So, we've been here before.

Godzilla anime is on the horizon. I never make these kinda threads but, eh. This checks enough boxes I might as well. This will be a series on Netflix, so likely 12 episodes or so and features human character designs from Kazue Kato, Kaiju designs by Eiji Yamamori, story by Toh Enjoe, and directed by Atsushi Takahashi. As the title says, it is a co-production between Studio Bones and Orange, who if I had to guess would be divvying human and kaiju action accordingly. Though we'll see.

It's kind of a perfect storm of talent brought together with some distinctive human character designs and an fierce looking Godzilla. Reminds me a bit of a chunkier Kiryu Godzilla though we'll see what the full body looks like. No word on the exact story though a few guesses can be made from the cast.

So, let's see how it goes!

The kaiju I think might be Baragon could be Gabara.

The one I spied for a possible Manda could be Titanosaurus underwater

The first episode is really interesting and Shin-like, but the second episode is what sold me on this whole project.

Hell yeah Jet Jaguar, get their asses! Can't wait for you to become fully self aware

It doesn't fit with Godzilla's normal origins of nuclear stuff, but some Godzilla vs. Romans or something set in ancient times would be a fun change of pace from seeing him get slightly annoyed by fighter jets and whatnot. The high-tech sci-fi take of the other fairly recent Godzilla anime was good too, but I think going the other way with it has its own appeal.

The scale of Godzilla in ancient times is so awesome to think about. Keep it strictly from the human perspective and you could clearly see it being a true God Myth in the making.

I love that the idea that the future is uncertain and ever changing and thus impossible to accurately decipher just did NOT occur to these big brains

So, the way it works is as follows, to the best of my understanding.

The AI system was one designed by the scientist. It was some old tech that got resurfaced and evolved. The future is not fixed, but the closer you are to the future, the more certain it becomes. So, using that device, you can see the immediate future with some degree of accuracy, but if you go too far into the future it becomes all kinds of hosed.

All of the kaiju are singular points. They all want to be THE Singular Point- the future. They're different realities and potential futures vying to be the dominate one. The AI, having learned all it knows, goes back in time to when the machine was created and loops around, creating JJ PP. Because they know the future, they know what comes next, they're able to create a stable time loop and force Godzilla to be The Singular Point- but the act of making him the singular point involves using the OD to kill Godzilla and send him back in time. The AI encodes itself into the song that resonates from Godzilla's bones, ensuring that this all plays out like they know it will.
