I always said Tan was a capable QB stuck in a poo poo system. He survived, and somehow found his payday for the next 10 years.

He's a lot better than most other wandering journeyman Qbs in the league, and managed to ride Henry to the AFC champ in his first season on a real offense (also matched by Flacco and Rapelsberger)

I would expect at least one ore -two more super bowl trips for the Titans (although you have a lot of competition in the AFC right now, so you may have be satisfied with another AFC champ

when I was still working at IMG, Tannehill prepped there for the Combine in 2012. Physically, he deserved to be selected ahead of Kirk Cousins and Russell Wilson, who were also there at the time. I always wondered if it was him or the system he was stuck in at Miami, because he was every bit as athletic as Russell Wilson, but with a bit of extra height. I guess we know for sure now. Very happy for him.

It also helps that he has a cyborg from another galaxy at running back, but he deserves a lot of praise right now.

No way, he does not even come close to having Wilson's elusiveness.

Oh boo, I went to pull up their mock draftable profiles, but Tannehill did nothing at the combine.

Meanwhile, I have a pretty hard time imagining he stacks up to Wilson athletically as a prospect:

40 Yard Dash 4.55s 95th percentile
Vertical Jump 34" 80
Broad Jump 118" 86
3-Cone Drill 6.97s 74

Have we considered that Tannehill is hiding his power level and doesn't go full power to not ruin the ankles of every defender in the AFC South?

Makes you think.

Tannehill's ankle was injured at the time, so he didn't do any of the drills. It wasn't serious at all, but kept him from running top speed. He would do stuff in training, but waited until Pro Day to go all out for scouts.

^^ this. Tannehill was fast as hell for his size, and he was impressively strong. Off the field in drills and whatnot, there wasn't much separation at all between them. The biggest differentiator for Wilson and Tannehill, at least for the time I was around them, was their mental approach to it all.
