Yeah, I should note Atun-Shei didn't really do a teardown of Hancock's conclusions or anything, rather examining if it was an effective rebuttal on Flint's part and whether it could win hearts and minds and Dibble seems to have done well for himself.

The flaw is that the design incentivises a style of play that is less fun. To get better at many card games you can count cards, track which ones have been played already, and so on. Playing better like that just isn't as fun as winging it, and that a problem inherent to the design.

I mean sure a niche group of hardcore number crunchers would really appreciate it, but once you start catering your game's design to them, it starts to become inaccessible to everybody else.
