I can't think of many shows that completely impress and entrance me every single episode in so many different ways, let alone something completely real. Everything from Avatar club/support group to the ending store opening was perfect.

what the gently caress those licence plates. I wonder how many years’ worth of footage that was. oh my GOD the court shows. It was seriously the best decision to leave all this weird poo poo from his past until season 2 because it makes it hit much harder somehow. the avatar people are such loveable dorks and that one guy got me genuinely emotional this show is amazing Escobarbarian fucked around with this message at 16:48 on Dec 25, 2021 |

Is the oven laundromat still a thing? I assume it was like a 1 week mysterious art installation thing, but it would probably be legitimately busy for a few days after that episode aired.

Season 2 almost has me watching for different reasons now. Although the one where his block is turned into a set for war torn iraq might be the funniest episode to date.

Concrete plant behind a Whole Foods? Tunisia. Industrial edge of very trendy Bushwick/Ridgewood? Iraq.

Just binged every episode out so far last night and I love it. New York is loving madness and I thank every god imaginable that I don't live in a place like that. I can't get over the fact that twice a week people sit in their cars for 90 minutes waiting for a street sweeper to come by. What the gently caress.

Fellatio del Toro posted:really thought this ep was gonna end with him proposing to and/or marrying his girlfriend Same here. Looking at Wikipedia, I noticed that the show has two new writers on Season 2. One is Conner O'Malley, which makes sense. But, the other is Susan Orlean, who wrote the book that Adaptation is about. I am surprised at that.

i find Las Vegas incredibly unnerving but that convention scene definitely gave me the creeps. just a sinister aura permeating everything. like that scene in Fear and Loathing, except instead of lizard people everyone's got a plastic surgery rictus grin

He stayed on the old strip which is like irl Blade Runner or Cyberpunk 2077 or something. I stayed there right before the pandemic and would say the footage he caught is actually pretty tame because I saw much weirder/sadder stuff there in just a few days. It's way more interesting than the main strip though I loved it and I loving hate Vegas.

"Disneyland for people with terrible lives" is how my friend described it. It's also better people watching. Slowly burning a couple hundred bucks at the $2 ante no limit golden tables in the Golden Nugget is probably the most fun I've had in Vegas. If you want an actual nice resort and restaurants kind of experience, than the Strip is a better bet. It's still the same thing under the surface but the food is better and everything is cleaner.

Also everything in "The Strip" is actually not in Las Vegas. Like 60 years ago the big casino money all moved to just outside the city limits to the unincorporated community of Paradise, NV to avoid paying any taxes to the city. Then they bribed a bunch of state legislatures to pass a law that prohibited Vegas from ever expanding it's borders or claiming any tax revenues from any of the casinos operating on the strip.
