The progressives need to start attacking the mainstream Democrats without mercy. Stop with the "please can we exist" poo poo. They will never let you exist, their owners wont allow it. You need people willing to fight, who are willing to tell the DNC to eat poo poo. Maybe that means being forever marginalized, ok, that is still better than surrendering, cooperating, and getting nothing in return.

The US is not a democracy. Pretty much all the elected politicians take legal bribes. Only way to get elected. The Democratic leadership is payed to lose, that's why they refuse to support things like universal healthcare. Billionaires and consultants run the whole thing and they do not care how many people die as long as they make a profit.
