I've done my best to raid (sending all your viewers to someone else's stream when your stream ends) other goon streams. I recommend it as a way of boosting potential viewers for both the raider and the raid-ee!

Cool. I'll try to do this...though it means looking at my phone at the end of a ride and figuring out who's online I guess. I'm usually tired and cold so I need to will myself into doing it.

I did just have quite the stream though (for me). 6 viewers plus a handful were NOT goons, but from Estonia or something. Apparently they were all cycling stream aficionados. Now I'm at 20 followers which is fun.

I do think bike streaming is underserved but there are a few streamers I know that do a good job of it. One is in Indonesia and basically nails the US time zones and also happens to be in a very interesting part of the world.

This isn't cool at all Looshkin! These are dark forces you're titting about with!

I dropped into your stream for a while! I enjoyed it! There's something really chill about watching someone just cycle around the place.

Just a thought, but have you considered someone modding your stream? That way you can ride around bringing the sights, and a mod could keep chat going, which seems to be what increases viewers.

It's a lovely idea for a stream, and I think if you could get folks chatting that would help encourage people to stick around

Edit: the more I think about this the more I like it. A mod with a rough idea of where you're going, so they can update the chat with "so we are approaching X" type stuff. It just gives viewers something to bounce off of whilst watching a nice chill cyclestream

Thanks! The mod idea is interesting tho I'd need to find someone who wants to do it and also knows the area? I guess if it was just a hype person or something in general, and they could just wing it. My wife said she'd do it but I don't know if I want to subject her to KEKW and GACHIGASM and all that admittedly silly poo poo.

You think I'd be better served by talking less in the end? Like more of a chill quiet stream?

I am planning to just do some 4K recordings of rides as well, without any talking. Sounds weird but I do follow a few folk in youtube who post that sorta stuff and I like tossing it up on a second monitor as sort of a moving background :kiddo:

I'm going to be locked inside for the next couple weeks and I'm thinking about doing some streaming to pass the time, but I don't have a microphone. Considering I don't intend to make this a serious hobby I don't want to spend too much on one, but I also don't want to cheap out to the point it sounds terrible or breaks when you look at it. Any recommendations on budget mics? Microcenter has the Snowball iCE in stock but that only stands out because I recognize the brand, I've never really looked into mics before.

Yeah! She's stuck around for the game stream a few times, I'm usually at work when that starts up. The kitty cam has now become a staple for bedtime. We have talked about a feature request - some way to show what song is playing. I recognize most of what you got, but holding our phones up to the TV to identify whatever is playing is not exactly in line with getting lulled to sleep.

Edit: Do the kitties have names? We've totally named them. The first one we named was Flashbutt because he keeps mooning the camera.

Edit Edit: I've turned your stream on every day for over a week and never scrolled down to find the kitty names. Flashbutt is Dart.

You got one more. I've been trying to follow everyone here as well for that purpose but I've probably missed some.

Looks like my first stream was Nov 15th. I've taken about 3-4 nights off, but I'm otherwise streaming every night for about 2 hours. Not sure what sort of timeline is typical, but it definitely felt faster than I expected. I attribute a lot of that to Mario Maker tbh, it's just inherently more interactive than most other stuff since people bring their own levels to see them get played. I see a lot less traffic when I'm playing Hades or even a Mario World romhack.

I also have a big fluffy beard and I guess that might help a little.

I should include a clip so people can get a feel for what I do. Here's a nice little highlight of a really fun level from last night:

Hey cheetah, thanks a ton for this thread - it's great timing since we are going back into lockdown in a lot of cases and more of us have started streaming to keep ourselves somewhat sane and social.

I started working on a stream in preparation for that, and finally feel like I worked enough of the kinks out to let people see it. I went ahead and added everyone who posted in this thread, and think everyone should do the same and maybe help promote each other to create a mini community. I'll at least try to pop in and comment when I see you guys live, and will add similar channels to those to snipe, etc. as time goes on. I don't have any real goals except growing a community a bit and coming up with more creative stuff to do, but I'm willing to support any reasonable goals and endeavors. I'm not even at affiliate yet, but I'd like to get a decent amount of viewers along the way if possible.

My Twitch Stream is basically a "whatever I feel might be interesting for people" thing where I try to find fun to watch games, bad television and movies, or random nonsense to entertain people with to any degree. My plan for my stream and a mix of what I've done so far is a random mix of me playing games everyone else is playing, as silly as possible (for instance, I refuse to use guns in non-Warzone Call of Duty), random stupid stuff like trying the hottest hot sauces ever live, or having watchalong parties for terrible C grade movies that I won't get copyright claimed for or bad local television/commercials, and me working on my own video games I'm developing.

One thing I want to do when I get more watchers is to play through some of the old games I made on the 360 with other goons/goon input that a lot might not have seen before, for instance.

Today, I'm just dicking around playing Cyberpunk on and off this afternoon like everyone else, but at 4pmEST or so, will be streaming clips from a horrible local television show from the 90s called "The New Dance Show" that I plan on doing every Thursday.

This isn't cool at all Looshkin! These are dark forces you're titting about with!

Man alive, the jump from affiliate to partner is a slog. The 75 average viewers thing is an absolute bastard. My lunchtime streams are hovering between 45-50 viewers, but the "path to partner" thingy is creaking along showing 31.53/75, with tiny incremental increases and I have no idea how to bump that up. I tweet about it (and you'd think that out of 15k of the bastards who follow me a fraction of a % would drop in) and raid other streamers etc, but it kinda feels like it's stalled.

Anyway. Complaining aside, today is FANCY FRIDAY for my lunchtime crossword stream. I've started doing this on Fridays because it's nice to dress up, especially when there's not really any real reason to do so. I also encourage the chat to do the same, and share their outfits in my discord. It's a nice bit of silly fun, and wearing nice clothes and complimenting others (with a super strict "don't be a loving creep" policy) is a nice bit of silliness and a good way to generate chat/brief squirts of serotonin.

If anyone wants to join in (fanciness not mandatory but encouraged) I'll be streaming me attempting to solve today's guardian cryptic crossword at 1230 UK time, but probably getting horrendously distracted by the chat. Or my cats. As per usual.

Would be great to see some new faces!
