t52 all ten earth attacks we cast last turn found a target. as you'll recall, eight of them were on an ermor stack:  here's an example fight:   the standoff  the augur immediately self-buffs with ethereality and luck. this will effectively let him avoid 7 in 8 mundane attacks  then he sets the elemental on fire  elementals shrink as they take damage so this one drops from size6 to size5, due to being on fire  but eventually the elemental squishes him, it's relentless  anyway by the time our army gets there all of the commanders are dead. we were specifically hoping that there would be at least one commander left, so that ermor's army would try to fight us, but ermor must have shuffled his guys around or something.  when we try to fight, ermor's guys immediately turn tail and run and our script doesn't even fire properly, so we don't get to slaughter them. alas. alack. oh well, no harm done. speaking of sniping commanders:  ermor mind-hunted our ghostly merc dude. when the commander of a mercenary group dies the units all disband so. oh well  anyway despite losing one merc party we've besieged this fort with no issues. with scrying we can even get a scouting report on what's inside the fort. looks harmless.  earth-attack-wise, we're sending two at each of the remaining indie thrones. ideally we've traumatized ermor some, enough to make him more cautious. we need the earth gems elsewhere right now  specifically, we need them here, down south, for my ridiculous, wasteful plan  we're sending a crew to the firesnake throne with 25 earth gems to share between them, plus a celestial music caster, and a mass flight caster to come talking in game chat: [2:17 AM] &rcvasti: ...huh, agartha seems to be lunging for a water throne [2:18 AM] &rcvasti: a big agarthan army just barrelled through pan's cap circle, and then seems to have disappeared into the ocean [2:28 AM] &rcvasti: I believe in you agartha, stomp those goats [2:33 AM] PurpleDCLXVI: Maybe they just overshot, forgot to put on the brakes. Yeah, I forget why I staled but I definitely missed a big win because I saw a bunch of my dudes with shiny new gear somehow. I also forget what I did with the death gems, I think I just empowered some oracles of the dead. Either way, thanks for the tips Filth although I have yet to play EA Agartha again.

t53 turn 53, or: "The Turn"  first things first. we've definitively cleared 3 of the 4 uw thrones. the fourth, marked with a question mark, has eaten six earth attacks but idk if it's clear yet. we could trivially clear it this turn, however, with our earth attack infrastructure. and you know what that means...... I haven't played in dom5 with the thrones and stuff. Is the wiki article on turn order accurate, and throne claiming happens before even ritual battles? Because that makes it seem like this would be hard to stop, unless some other nation is either psychic or gets lucky with their current submitted orders. Well, I guess the True Pro Move would be to check the thrones to see if commanders are mysteriously vanishing in a puff of violence and take advantage but who does that?

Man the thrones are so spread out and everyone is busy with their own little wars. The big question is do people even notice that he now controls enough thrones to win in one turn. Much less that he has people in place to claim them all in one turn.

You can definitely make productive deals with them, like turtle did with the big lantern deal. In general Purple will actually interact with people diplomatically, instead of, say, instantly invading anyone who tries to talk to them.

I will predictably do what seems funniest to me at any given point in time, yes(i.e. casting Wild Hunt, making boondoggle thugs, helping someone else with a boondoggle thug project).  I also try not to be a dick about betrayals, like, it if it feels like the betrayal would seem mean-spirited and upset someone, or otherwise ruin their fun, I wouldn't have the heart for it.

I read it as the throne staying claimed until someone else sent in their own H3 to nab it and the claiming happening before you had any chance of evicting the enemy priest, in which case a sudden mass grab like this would be super hard to counter. Are there instant cast fortresses other than the deep blood one where you summon a million imps to build one in seconds?  I'm behind on modern competitive theology mapgaming.

JBBM gives MA Caelum a national ice fort making spell in water, which is really strong. Although they will melt eventually if you put them in the wrong place. Emphasis on eventually though, ice forts take a long time to melt.

t54 turn 54, or: "Denouement"  it's a good thing we sent those last earth attacks at the throne in 29. there was one more guy left over. we toasted him and the last two elementals found nothing.  so in each uw throne the siddhas found a leaderless force  and turn one the enemies rout  see, they're all running away  our long slow earth attack strategy, which cost us at least 150 earth gems by its end, has come to fruition. the thrones are ours. note our yellow flag in each circled lake  we fought the firesnake for his throne  the enemy  our force. note the devata near the middle, blue-skinned and handsome  divine blessing/arrow fend/celestial music/marble warriors/warriors of niefelheim, in the same turn  mass flights pop right before the earthquakes go off. they shake the screen but you can't see that too good without video. it's cool tho  flight of the semi-divine  a buffed guy. note the prot. also he has fog warriors now  second round of earthquakes pops before the enemy gets into melee. look at all those numbers. glorious  last buff to go is will of the fates, making all our boys lucky  the snakes are ferocious, but at this point, so are we  also my offscript yakshas cast gifts from heaven, resulting in some friendly fire. whoops  while his forces die the big kahuna is tied up fighting wolves, too busy to help. thank you howl   eventually it's too much for mehen. he turns to flee  but there's nowhere for him to go  our boys butcher him. the last real resistance to our rule is slain  in celebration our yakshas blow up a few more of our guys with gifts. great, thanks dudes  we claim his throne  ermor's fort just had a skeleton force  a plate glass window will claim this throne. well done, a plate glass window, the long-suffering prophet of the flying brick  each of the four underwater siddhas claims their throne of ascension. six claims in one turn  ermor reclaims ulm and attacks us with raiders, advancing new and dangerous forces, but we're not playing that game anymore  the flying brick performs a necessary task  we'll convert every gem to earth. ^before  ^after victory.  behold  BEHOLLLD  BEHOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLD the earth rune province lets us target all of our unforted thrones with wizard's tower, which will instafort them. now there is no mechanical way we can lose the game, no matter what anyone tries to do to oppose us. we'll thank our friends talking in game chat 8:41 PM] turtle-king of ſomeÞing awful🐢: thank you for a fun game everyone :slight_smile: [8:42 PM] turtle-king of ſomeÞing awful🐢: i really enjoyed it! It's technically still possible for you to lose, if someone takes one of the thrones after killing a wizard tower caster in the magic phase. Incredibly unlikely, but possible in theory.

t55  we did it  victory. ubar and ermor launch some desperate last-minute assaults on my uw thrones, under the the rationale that i could have been lying. unfortunately: i wasn't. the score graphs are now publicly available. let's have a look  provinces. in all of these we're the yellow line that's usually at the top  forts. hahaha note the fort count spiking suddenly at the end. funny  income. you can see where we were crushing ermor and where he began to turn it around  gem income. note where ebdw went up. we dominated this all game  research. honestly this was no contest. if any graph tells the story of the game, it's this one  dominion. ermor went hard on temples. i wonder if abysia was blood saccing? huh  army size. we're not the highest yellow here at the end; that slightly darker yellow line is lanka, with their skeles. also high are pan and marv  ascension points. makes ya think. anyway: that's the game. we could talk about it a little and then close the thread, if people like. thank you for your time and attention; i hope you have enjoyed coming on this journey, with me, in: "The Ballad of the Flying Brick"
