I played on this server eight or nine years ago, and it's really two games in one: there's the nostalgic kick-around that you can do easily, and remember the good and bad things about a twenty-year old MMORPG. Leveling on SoD is not nearly as painful as it was on Verant/SOE's servers back in the day, and although some of the names are different, there's a lot you'll recognize. The other game is the raiding, "beat the game" style, and that is also possible but will take a truly monumental time effort, numbering many thousands of hours. If you want to make it work, you can make it work, but there's no casual way to get to the endgame.

Ghosts! posted:While reading the SOD forums I came across a few scattered posts saying that beastlords were annoying to play. Can anyone elaborate on that? I stopped playing before beastlords were revamped, but even when their dps sucked they were still fun to play. It'd still be my go-to class.
