If there's one thing abundantly clear to me about driving, it's that most people are completely incapable of thinking ahead like that. It's just simple poo poo that makes your life easier like getting over to the rightmost lane before your exit comes up on the highway, etc. People just don't think about stuff like that. Or maybe it's probably more accurate to say people just don't think.

A friend commented recently that since covid stuff has eased up here and people have started going to jobs again after a few months not driving, they seem worse. Like they'd forgotten how to drive. I reminded him they were always poo poo, there was just more cars around so they could hide their fuckwittery easier in the crowds of metal.

They re-painted a couple of roundabouts by work a solid 3 years ago now and at least once a week I watch someone cut across from the outside lane into the inside one despite there being two very clearly marked lanes round it.

Driving into work this morning when the rain was real heavy I saw some absolutely clown-level driving going on. Sections of the dual carriageway near my place have a lot of standing water when the rain hits hard and fast and I've seen so many people's cars start to aquaplane...

This happened somewhere else but the driver clearly wasn't being careful.

Like big heavy cars that can hit 60 in under 4 seconds with self driving tech that constantly tries to pile itself into pedestrians and when they crash light themselves on fire that you can't put out unless you dunk them in tanks of water isn't bad enough. lmao.

Make low cars great again. Or something.

On a bike I can still see over the majority of UK traffic but gently caress me it starts getting scary when the SUVs come out to play, they can't see out of them for a loving start, have no idea how big their vehicles are and are invariably the worst drivers skill wise too. It's a deadly combination.

You should try watching the UK dashcam videos, it's just an endless stream of morons who can't drive sending in footage of them getting into near miss situations and accidents. I'm constantly stunned by how many of the cammers risk death purely to get footage to send in. Either that or they have absolutely minimal hazard perception. Either way I share roads with these dangerous arseholes and they're the prime reason I would like mandatory re-testing every 5 years and licenses revoking.

100% real. I distinctly remember 'reps' being a thing in my childhood years. Just scores of sales arseholes driving round in their company cars, staying in lovely hotels trying to get businesses to buy poo poo from their company. Leagues of self-important shitbirds in cheap suits huffing their own farts.

(and thank you, I was looking for that video!)
