Schumer is riding the “technically not a lie” line. He is verbally demanding $2k while simultaneously taking an action that removes like 99% of the leverage. Technically not lying! The way I'm interpreting it is that Trump treats every interaction with people as transactional. Every relationship (business, working, personal, casual) Trump has is like this- what can I get from you for the least amount of effort, or how can I maximizing profit while minimize expenses. The judges he appointed are treating him the same way. They got what they wanted, what more does Trump offer them if they put their necks on the line for him? He's never been on the receiving end of that treatment and he doesn't know how to respond.

Republicans want to shove all the voting to election day, but they're likely two years too make *major* outcome-affecting changes country-wide (unless the pandemic doesn't end!).
