FizFashizzle posted:i really really want to cut down my alcohol consumption in 2021. That was my 2020. Getting properly treated for adhd and not being able to go anywhere helped a lot and I think we ended up spending 5-6x less on booze over the year.. haven't even bought a case of beer once and the savings can go to buying good quality liquor and enjoying it w/o waking up feeling lovely. Winter is the hardest part imo since the day feels done so early. Good luck

Amy Pole Her posted:Sounds like you miss being outside and walking around moreso than just working in an office, outside of how much easier it is to get help etc. Ya it's this (for me) and I think a good chunk of commute missers will make it one week before hating it again. Walking around the block or on the trail a bit isn't the same as getting some coworkers together and walking around the office buildings but it aint worth losing an hour to driving and being forced to stack house chores either before/after hours and welp suddenly youre living for the weekend.

These same people swore up and down in 2016 theyd be the first ones to disown trump if he did anything bad, lol

They wanted a single 2k check in the bill that just passed and there's no way they would ever want to do a 2k check on top of the 600 one. 1400+600 makes perfect sense for the means testing pedantic libs but they absolutely marketed a 2k check so lmao

Spoeank posted:It's absolutely loving insane that they are means testing a check ten months into a pandemic based on pre-pandemic tax returns Especially funny since the whole bait there was to "look" like youre not letting those dang 100k salary people getting anything but then they go off 2018/19 returns and anyone who got a raise or new job still got the check so it was pointless to begin with

Ornery and Hornery posted:I have a steelcase leap used. It’s pretty good and for the price ($300) can’t really be beat. Honestly same. IDK if its the refurb quality but I'm glad I got the chair for 300 and not 900. It's been great for my back but the cushioning is too thin and the arm rests always fall at "too short" or "too high". Thinking about replacing it with an herman miller sometime

Betting your student loans on GameStop of all places and becoming a millionaire by forcing finance dweebs and banks on wall st to cover is actually good and more socialist than this country will ever be

Aaaaaaarrrrrggggg posted:I'm completely lost. Why is GameStop suddenly worth billions?? In short, the guy who made Chewy a big success and viable competitor to Amazon for pet food got on board with Gamestop creating some buzz and a future plan for profit, while a bunch of people posting on reddit put their life savings into option calls on it, while investment banks/big monied interests doubled down on their short positions until they couldn't anymore and got "squeezed" to infinity making the share price also squeeze up. e: the entire thing is a really good example on why there should maybe be some regulations or limitations on short positions but they'll probably just make it more difficult for normal people to speculate

This is a thing that seems like it should be an easy regulation or something but by end of year it'll just be really difficult for normal people to have option accounts

Amy Pole Her posted:I mean obviously understand im ignorant to the whole thing but it feels like this is shady as all hell on the part of the big firms. Almost like this will be a case study on a big regulation change or something. Lol oh wait Biden's in office. Nevermind that forum will just get shut down. I agree it's 100% shady as hell and smells like the same bs as the mortgage sub-prime lending etc. Rampant naked speculation to that amount of money is absurd lol

It seems pretty clear to me that RH coordinated in manipulation on behalf of the same groups they sell user order data to and any potential lawsuits are irrelevant to them because all the rich people (fund managers/rh investors or owners) got out safely or will be fine. It would also be better for the funds if RH drew all the attention of the sec or wh and the conclusion is to put stricter requirements on option trading or something to gatekeep retail investors and not any kind of regulation on .. well.. everything else. This has been a wild ride though. I had actually bought a single GME call back in November and sold it on the first blip to $30 for a net $500 so thanks for the ps5 gamestop
