End of February/Start of March update:
  1. £7,158.46 - ahead of £7,056 YTD target;
  2. £23.54 - not even close to the £500 YTD I'd need (I really need to get off my rear end on this one); and
  3. Nothing to do for another month except keep my records up to date.

Start of July:
  1. £12,000 / £12,000 - unexpected promotion + unexpected bonus + ??? (New stretch goal: £17,000).
  2. £142.06 / £1,750 YTD target - combo of struggling to get off my rear end on this one and a ~3 month lead time on getting paid means this is looking pretty unlikely.
  3. Didn't happen. See, this is why I should post updates each month; it would force me to remember these deadlines I set. Still have plenty of time but I'm aiming to register this weekend and at least get a draft form filled.

My day job, budgeting and long-term savings are on autopilot at this point which in theory gives me more focus for side projects but :effort:

Start of August:
  1. £13,400 / £12,000 - still just plugging away at the stretch goal (Stretch goal: £17,000).
  2. £184.19 / £1,750 YTD target - (YTD target last month was wrong) still slowly plugging away at this - I think I need to set a new target, maybe based on projects completed rather than revenue.
  3. Tax return submitted! A couple of weeks later than intended but it all went smoothly, especially given it's the first one I've ever had to do. Once it's confirmed I'll just pay it off ASAP - it's only ~£150.

The day job is going smoothly, which I can't really complain about even if it is something I want to move away from eventually. I'm glad I've managed to avoid lifestyle creep so far after the promotion earlier in the year - right now, the difference in income is just going straight to the house deposit without thinking about it.

Start-ish of October:
  1. £15,800 / £17,000 - if this carries on, I'll hit my stretch goal at the start of next month. December is just the cherry on top.
  2. £239.46 / £2,250 YTD target - oof. This one is dead in the water. If I hit £300 for the year, I guess I can't complain.
  3. Did happen, about a week after my last post. It wasn't too tricky, either.
I've been back in the office basically every work day for the past month - we're technically only required to be in 50% over two weeks but the amount of work has exploded and I just can't focus well enough to keep up at home. Pulling 50 hour weeks again has not been fun and has derailed a lot of things, not least my side-project. Hoping things are starting to mellow out and I can at least get a head start on next year.

End of November/Start of December:
  1. £18,000 / £17,000 - just short of my stretch goal last month, sailed past it this month. Couldn't be happier with this. I'll stash some more away over the rest of the month and probably start 2022 at around £19k.
  2. £256.88 / £2,750 YTD target - starting to pick up steam now but that won't show for months. I'll keep the same target next year, I think.
  3. All finalised and paid.

End of 2021
  1. £18,000 (+£12,042) - happy that I managed to funnel a mid-year raise into this, rather than lifestyle creep. Still no closer to actually buying but I should be in a good position to do so if I can keep this up.
  2. £273.04 / £3,000 (9.1%) - life and ennui got in the way. I'll try again in 2022.
  3. All finalised and paid - should be even easier/quicker in 2022.
