Iron Blooded Orphans has some solid bits, the antagonists are almost 1 for 1 analogs for NATO, and resisted by child soldier mercenaries turned national liberation fighters.

There's a major emphasis on the ability of space-NATO to vilify its enemies by controlling the media narrative, and cynically using accusations of "illegal weapons" as a pretext while it stockpiles those same weapons in the vastest quantities, and massacres striking colonial workers on behalf of corporations.

The worst villain even paraphrases Sankara, from the imperialist perspective, explaining that it'd be a waste to kill non-ideological professional soldiers, and the important thing is wiping out the revolutionaries and colonial rebels.

code gayass was actually very good, especially s1. please do not judge it on its CLAMP character design.

the first 1/3 to 1/2 of season one was good, when they actually were actually playing to the basic premise of the show (scheming good guy with 1 broken but limited power vs imperialist lackey prodigy mech pilot in a fast prototype), when there were definite limits to what either of their strengths could achieve. By the end of the season, when LeLouche handles being strategically caught out by the enemy by just flying into the sky and deleting a whole army he failed to account for with his super lasers, it's killed most of what made it interesting.

Suletta has the mental capacity and personality type of a dog, so you have to be extra mean to make her go away.

Now that's just unfair, Earth House hasn't once had to pull her off Miorine's legs.

So, how about that Castlevania?

I'm kind of liking it having the guts to say: "those liberal/moderate respectables, who admit your grievances are valid, but piously denounce revolutionary violence? They're the most contemptible motherfuckers in the world, and also they will be literally cucked by the fascists they enable."
