Hey I did some sports gambling tonight and (so far) have come out ahead. I redeemed an offer from FreeCash that gives you $50 back if you deposit and bet $10 on FanDuel for the first time. So I did that, got the $50 almost instantly, and cashed it out from Freecash to my Paypal. Minus the transfer fee I was already up $37.50. Not bad! FanDuel currently has a "Bet $5, get $200 in bonus bets if you win" promotion. So I took Oakland -4.5 vs Milwaukee in the Horizon final for $5. it was close, but they covered so now I have $9.55 real money, and the $200 in bonus bets. (I bet the other $5 I deposited on the Wild over the Coyotes on the moneyline. Still TBA as I write this. I don't know anything about hockey but a talking head on Live on the Line said it was a good bet. I stupidly listened.) I have to use the $200 in bonus bets by the 19th. I threw a few $10 bets on SGPs for Bucks vs Kings tonight. So I have $170 left to use by 3/19. I assume the pre-made parlays in the app are stacked against you, but I don't have enough experience to make up my own. Any decent pointers or reference material out there? I did a similar promotion last year with BetMGM and immediately lost my first bets so I know I'm not some kind of betting savant. I do want to make the most of this fluke win though.

It's almost hilarious that your free bets expire before March Madness. You can try to bet the conference tournaments that run through this weekend, maybe? I always get soaked trying to bet NBA so I have no advice there. I do okay picking off the occasional English soccer parlay of winning teams or an upset. If you can wait until Saturday afternoon, there's a UFC card in their tiny Vegas arena. Someone in whatever Punchsport Pagoda is called now always does a write up of every fight that at least sounds reasonable to my stupid rear end so you can bet on just the winner, winner by decision/KO/submission, etc. What I've been doing for fun is betting NASCAR. You can see what track they're at this weekend (Bristol) and go online to see each driver's average result there over the last 5-10 races and put bets on 4-5 drivers that catch your eye. Even the favorite in the field will go off at something like +700 to win and you can definitely hit someone at like +1500 or +2000 or more. Sprinkling some $5 bets over that could be a nice win.

I won't quote everybody, but thanks for the recs! I made a couple of impulse $10 bets last night that lost, of course, then settled down.
I'm obviously playing much faster and looser than I would with my own money, but I figure if even one or two of these hit its worth it. My NHL bet hit so I've got $17.50 in real money in my account, too. I'm not going to touch that until all these bonus bets shake out. Even if nothing hits I'll be up $7.50 when I cash it out.

Bonus bets should definitely be put on long shot bets (+ev if possible) rather than lower odds bets. Much better utilized.

Most of my bets nowadays are on NFL draft. A bet I’ve been eyeing to make but the prices keep getting better is Drake Maye 2nd overall. Started off around -160 but Jayden Daniels has picked up a lot of steam so now Maye is + money. Maye was the 1b to Caleb Williams’ 1a coming into draft season, but the mid-season-mocks have to spice things up so Jayden starts jumping. The serious talent evaluators I follow still like Maye more.

Unsurprisingly, none of the crazy parlays hit so no six hundred bucks for me. BUT, FSU winning got me $14 so I was able to withdraw $30 total into my PayPal account. All told I'm up about $70 thanks to the initial Freecash bonus. I used up the last $15 of bonus bets on more same game parlays so that's it for me. Just gotta wait to see how some things shake out over the weekend. Thanks for the tips, it was a fun ride. Gonna go blow that $70 on video games.

Would a place actually let you cash in with a picture of a ticket? What's to stop someone from taking a picture of someone else's ticket and cashing it in before the rightful owner? Maybe it's an "if you argue hard enough that they are sick of listening to you, you might get lucky and finally wear them down" with the picture as some sort of "proof" thing, is it just not going to happen, or is there more to it that I don't get?
