I assume it's either Apple or the credit card companies cracking down. Apple certainly have been trying to make sexual content a point of contention in this lawsuit with Epic Games, and there's already signs of other companies reacting to that suit, so this could be part of that. Or it could be like the Pornhub thing.

What amazes me is they somehow let a PR person craft this reply: “We want to make adult items available to those who wish to purchase them and can do so legally, while preventing those who do not wish to view or purchase these items from easily accessing them.”

Which is like... just directly contradicting what they're doing?

I just finished reading all of the main story of Invincible, now to digest all the side stories

That was a good series. I don't like it when comics change pencilers for a volume tho

I enjoy the carve outs for the popular/profitable items. That makes it very transparent what the goals are.

I believe in a universe that doesn't care, and people that do.

First of all, 54 is way too young. Second, Berserk is probably one of the most influential mangas of all time, especially in recent history. So many modern games, animes and even western comics take heavy inspiration from its unrelentingly dark tone, gnarly monsters, grisly fight scenes and Guts' iconic gigantic sword. The Dark Souls games in particular take heavy inspiration from the series. This is a really sad day.

How Wonderful already updated the thread title. I only noticed because I would've done it just now if she hadn't. :v:

That said, anyone who wants to make a fresh thread for spring should go right ahead!

That Birds of Prey Black Canary comic is pretty good. I really like how they handled the former lead singer, it was neat that she was complex and wasn't just jealous and evil.

Fell off a rental scooter. The good news is they just sent me home with a sling, so it's going to suck for a bit, but it could certainly have been worse.

Sometimes I ride them to the bar. It's faster than walking and cheaper than an Uber. I assume people disparaging this don't live in actual cities.

I am a good scooter user and put them in tree boxes or near curbs out of the way of where people normally walk. But yeah, there are definitely assholes that will drop them just wherever. My city has replaced some street parking spots with scooter/bike parking areas in more popular neighborhoods to try to alleviate this some.

We plant too many trees in the parking strips and 20 years later the roots grow and bust through the cement. Also technically speaking whoever owns a house or business is responsible for maintaining the sidewalk in front of it, not the city, for some dumbass reason. And of course no one does.

So thanks to the Venture Brothers thread of all places, I realized I had a Mandela effect going with Ben Edlund. I was under the impression that he died a while back for some reason. This also made me assume he only wrote the first 12 or so issues of Tick because he left for the TV shows, and never came back.

So my question is, why did he ditch writing the comics without ever going back? Has he done anything else besides TV work since that run? Seems like besides the TV show, he doesn't have much to do with his character, seeing as I'm looking at a "Complete Edlund" collection on my bookshelf, and it's no thicker than Watchmen.
