Granny White needs to do a buddy comedy with the Obatarian. Or perhaps a grudge match. Wait, that might cause serious issues. Never mind.

I'm legit surprised Granny White's not recruitable for Club Four Shine when all's said and done with her.

I've been in a group interview to get an internship.
It absolutely loving sucked. They just decided to schedule 3 candidates at the exact same time and pitch them against each other.

Compared to that, this version of group interview where everyone knows and is supporting each other is much more pleasant.

I would have been so happy if right after Kiryu said he's the former Fourth Chairman of the Tojo Clan that Majima would suddenly appear to back him up.

In Majima's own way, of course.

Turns out it was really Majima running the mock interview this whole time!

I had a "group interview" for a call centre job, which was really more of a training/orientation session? It followed the phone interview and I got paid for it. One of the supervisors later told me that basically the only way you don't get the job at that point is if you show up drunk or high - which does happen occasionally.

I've also heard of group interviews that are more like what you describe, except that they're generally hiring multiple people at once and it's a bigger group. So, like, they need a bunch of shelf stockers for a new supermarket, they just bring in a dozen people at once and hire however many of them they need. Probably fairly similar to the call centre in that they're mostly checking that you're not an obvious liability, and beyond that it's just whoever the interviewer(s) happen to like most (or dislike least).

In my case it was a chemical research lab, so the requirements were a little higher than just not being drunk / high / a liability / incapable of following a script.

At least that stunt got the place pulled from the list of places my college endorsed / referred students to, so nobody else had to deal with that bullshit.

The Florist’s last base had a Coliseum, high-stakes casino, and hookers. His new place is definitely a downgrade compared to that, no matter how more legit and above ground it is.

Yeah, but now he can tell his mom where he works. That's important, too.

Yakuza 5, in my opinion, felt way longer than Judgement or Yakuza Zero. Also, mostly due to the confusing convoluted writing out of sync with the rest of the series, I enjoyed it less. There were a couple memorable villains, but one we didn’t even get to punch. :(

Also for anyone unaware, the sequel to Judgment, a sister-series set in the same universe as the Yakuza series, got announced! Confirmed for a worldwide simultaneous release this September!

Gotta say, I'm sure from a gameplay perspective, those buys blocking the doors are very frustrating. But from a viewer's perspective, watching Kiryu get absolutely destroyed by a chair honestly never gets old.

As someone who relatively recently finished Kiwami 2 himself, I can confirm the chair dudes are incredibly obnoxious in this game. They weren't a problem at all in 0 or Kiwami 1, because there they had a unique heat action that instantly killed them, but they not only removed that for Kiwami 2, they also made it so you can't really combo on them very effectively.

I will agree that it's very strange for Yayoi to get super defensive about loving Sohei Dojima of all people, it's not like he was even some huge badass as well, look at 0 for when he was in his prime, he was helpless when all his men were taken out.

Was Zero his prime? Maybe he was a badass when he was a young Yakuza, before he headed his own family and rose to power. Maybe that man was also more noble, and he was the one to whom Yayoi gave herself. The one she loved and always remembered, even when he became awful enough to kidnap girls like Yumi and have his way with them, when they were separated but she was too scared to get a divorce. Or maybe she was the glue holding his Yakuza family together when he became a corrupt jerk, especially in his years of relative weakness after the events of Yakuza Zero. It would explain how she was accepted as Acting Chairman so easily after Terada died, when you don’t see many female yakuza (I actually can’t think of any others in the series). And now that her husband is dead, she chooses to only remember the good man he used to be. It’s very understandable IMO, and it makes Yayoi a great character. Too bad she doesn’t get more presence in the series.

There's also the fact he ordered the deaths of the entire Jingweon Mafia, which would have included women and children too, so I feel fairly safe to say he was always a shithead.

Apparently Kuroda worked on a BL game in 2016 so probably inspired by that one if any. Though, he's a vampire in that game so pretty loosely inspired.
