i dunno sounds your dad just might be a peculiar nutbar honestly all the fundies i knew growing up ranging from baptist to free will baptist to foot washing baptist to pentecostal didn't know poo poo about the bible and any sort exegesis was them doing tviv-level analysis of scripture sans any broader context
