The more you kick against the pricks, the more you suffer.
A friend of mine got a job in St. Louis in the before-fore. The first night in the city someone stole her van from the parking lot of the motel she was staying at and burned it and everything she owned with it.

But at least it wasn't Kansas City.

Aside from some good years in the mid 2000s (and a single year in the 80s) the Seahawks were aggressively mediocre at best for their whole history. If you're obnoxious like we are, and like KC is, people will turn on you quick regardless.

Maybe KC is somewhat helped in that department by this year's lack of fans and social interaction?

In the wild, the sudden appearance of “lifelong 12’s” popping up was mildly annoying, and I say this living in South Florida. Here in TFF, IIRC it was right after the Gendo/MV years where any positive comments about one’s team were practically verboten, so suddenly having a few over the top posters going “hawks :hawksin:” seemingly everywhere all the time turned a lot of people against them pretty quick. It’s been pointed out before, but they got some people to openly root for the loving Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX because they were sick of the 12th Fan stuff.

Unrelated to him being an idiot (in that way), I just cannot get over the optics of firing Brian Schottenheimer and the public reason being 'we want to run the ball more.'

I mean, regardless of whether it's a good move or the truth of the matter or whatever. Go back in time a couple of years and tell yourself that's what would happen.

Good morning!
Seahawks fans were very obnoxious, we went totally ballistic especially in the PNW, but in our defense literally none of our teams had ever done anything like that

Like, a single NBA Championship in 1979, four total playoff appearances by the M's, one Super Bowl run that ended in disaster

If you weren't a UW fan in the early 90s you'd never experienced ANY kind of championship. Seattle teams were basically ignored by the wider culture at that point. It felt so drat good to have a brash, winning team with personality, one that got noticed.

So yeah the fans went too far and the Blue Friday stuff was cringe but gently caress it, I don't regret any of it, it was fun as hell

You won a Stanley Cup! Over the most storied franchise in the sport!

quote:

Seattle won the 1917 championship by defeating the National Hockey Association's Montreal Canadiens three games to one by a combined score of 23–11...

Games one and three were played under PCHA rules, i.e., seven players per side, forward passing in the neutral zone, and no substitution for penalized players. Games two and four were played under NHA rules, i.e., six players per side, no forward passing, substitutions allowed.

Lord I can't imagine how clogged the ice was with 7 players a side, but at the same time scoring was not an issue at all because goalies didn't have pads and had to fear for their lives if their face was in the wrong spot.

Also you may have possibly been robbed of another cup due to a pandemic, which has no relevance to anything recent luckily.
