I went through the autopsy results when they came out and I wanna say only one fatality (it wasn't more than a couple) was struck in the head and the vast majority were only hit once. Tumbling bullets are real deadly when they hit center mass. One unlucky person was hit only in the leg and died. There were a poo poo ton of people boxed in.

In my younger years I was a believer in the conspiracy (as most people are generally and the film JFK came out when I was younger) but I don't think it holds up to scrutiny. Apart from hiding Saudi government involvement the "official story" is how it happened. I don't fault anyone for believing in the Kennedy conspiracy and I don't find it implausible as a concept really I just don't think the evidence is there. The only people I totally dismiss are the ones that get into the obviously false stuff like second gunmen and poo poo.
