Yeah, I eventually got tired of beds all together. I'm a floor sleeper now, so it doesn't matter anymore.

I once had a girl friend who was kind of like a normal person. She was horrified to learn I hadn't washed my bed clothes in three years before we met, but I'd clean my mattress every so often (mom said it was a British thing lol). So I adjusted to the normal life for a bit while I was with her, but it seemed pointless and beds seemed pointless space hoggers so I got rid of the idea altogether.

I also learned from my first excursion sleeping on a yoga matt that my rooms tend to be messier if I sleep on a bed due to what I call the canopy effect. If I'm elevated above the ground, I only worry about eye level as I'm above the mess. When I sleep on the floor though, every obstacle or mess is a potential hiding spot for an insect that wants to crawl into my ear, so I tend to clean up more when I'm on the floor.

In the very least it's a nice place to park my truck lol.

dude. people "back down" 10k on 200k properties, not 20k. you can't be this naïve...

You guys do realize no normal real estate agent is going to work for a 3% or even a 6% commission on a $10k property, right?

define "normal". there are plenty of people that won't step over an easy $300-600. he doesn't need to hire howard hanna or whoever the gently caress the big agent is in town

No need I have a decent set somewhere. Problem is we renovated the garage to have more storage. Now we need to know where we stored things.

Ok. Let me know if you can't find them.

Just spoke with a realtor. There appears to be one more complication. The owner of the land has a lien on it for the manuhome he put on it in 2014. Sounds like he would have to refinance it to exclude the part I want to buy. Then I'd have to combine two parcels when I buy it. The good news is that him having a loan means the bank didn't have issue with the border dispute. So I can probably piggyback off that.

Don't get too discouraged. Seems like the only sensible thing to do now is to offer the seller/realtor/owner/bank/neighbor $40,000 for it.

I mean, I could give a line by line recitation and my reflection on it, but im on my way out the door to go to work and those were quick items to mention. That why I said that I was taking it in and wasn't discrediting what you said.

Typically the flatbed work trucks in the area just put 2x4 boarding on the sides and back and ratchet strap things down.

yes a flatbed truck and a box truck are both trucks

Thank you. That was a much nicer way to put it than what I was thinking.

Problem is that is literally how his mind works. It's exactly that type of thinking that is going to get him or someone else hurt... or worse.

Honestly, this thread should be in E/N, not DIY.
