Have you considered getting a $600 wen generator for most of your needs instead of a deathtrap of power on 1 whole battery. Like I can imagine your heater killing that thing pretty quick.

Really? I would look into it or have your company look into it. We do it through a company called Metlife Legal Plans. Employees pay like $7-$14 a month to buy into the service and they find attorneys in their network (it's kind of like insurrance) that will cover things like buying a home or if you get a speeding ticket, stuff like that. It's pretty nifty.

Edit: haha it's actually called legal insurrance.

I did this for a year when I was buying and selling a a home in the same year. Cost me <200 bux , saved me like 1000. Even got to use my buddy's law firm as they participated. They don't cover poo poo like Criminal defense or Divorce just "initial consultation" which is usually free with any lawyer worth a poo poo anyways. But well worth signing up if you're dealing with real-estate, wills etc. then dumping them.

please in the future make sure that significant safety devices like a vehicle seat are installed as intended /properly. A seat should be properly secured as just 2 bolts may have resulted in occupant ejection as the seat pops up and bashes you through the glass. Also ensure that you didn't just go to home depot and buy some 12M bolts, ensure that you are using the same grade bolt.

Ry here's a question.

Have you tried financial discipline.
Like not accidentally buying 3000 dollar telescopes?

Maybe find a thing you want at the $100 mark and out $20 or 40 a week away for it until you can buy it? Hiding your money on yourself is not a good idea as your really still not teaching yourself things and instead you're buying 3000 telescopes and still focused on spending 10k on land that is full of bullshit from start to finish.

Really you need a budget, even a spreadsheet one to categorize your expenses and limit your fun money exposure. Also apr 2022 is a long time away for buying land. The process is not that long. I stated looking for homes in Jan of 19 and closed in apr of 20. And that was a house with inspections and appraisals, and banks and mortgages. Edit: oh and the start of a global fuckin pandemic.

tater_salad

you CAN borrow from your 401k, generally 50% of your savings or 50k whichever is less (different or a home purchase but you're buying land not a house)

This is a bad idea for Ry (and most others unless there's a dire emergency and they don't have a well stocked emergency fund)

1. As I detailed above Ry shoudl be focusing on better financial discipline, poo poo the fuckin telescope he bought is 1/3 of the price of this property! Living this minimalist lifestyle he should 100% be able to scrape 10 grand together easily.
2. you borrow money from yourself, and you end up losing market gains on that money, so yes you are paying around 5% interest to yourself but you're losing a LOT more of that in unrealized gains (My 12 month average is somewhere around 20%, so a 401k loan to myself would cost me 15% interest)
2a. You pay a fee to borrow the money, usually not much but you're still losing money in administration fees.
3. Lose your job/ move jobs? Pay up suckka, you have a limited amount of time to pay that loan back ASAP or face taxes and early withdrawal penalties.

also carchat.. but anything that needs 300FTLbs of torque needs someone who knows how much is about 300ftlbs. I get it you're an entineerey type, but when it comes to bolts on your suspension 300ftlbs means.. get that fucker on goootntite. Any shop you take it to isn't going to be torque wrenching your shocks or your swaybar bushings etc. poo poo even at the factory I bet the robots or airguns the human robots use aren't nearly as calibrated as the worst torque wrench you can get from harbor freight THAT BEING SAID if you were redoing your intake/exhaust header studs, or your camshaft pullies that want something like 48ftlbs yeah you probably should get them exact. When something asks for 300ftlbs yeah just trust someone who's done it before (IE not you)

You shoudl be able to do shocks and whatever else you need for a fraction of the dealer / shop prices with "PFC dumbfuck" if they actually know what they are dong (read that as, were a mechanic in real life for some period of time, worked in the military as a mechanic, etc) AND they can provide you with acceptable tools to help you with the job (a lift would be real pleasant). THEN you take it to go get a real 4 wheel alignment and let someone with the $teaxs% laser alignment tool do that part.

Solution 1: Extend your exhaust for literally 100 of dollars or less probably at exhaust shop should prevent CO from being any occurrence now or in the future for any reasons.
Solution 2: Ditch this box truck and save some money to buy a purpose built vehicle mobile observatory for your 3000 telescope and for living in? Like Grover truck seems to have lots of things going for it, a big empty box with some stud walls and a trailer hitch on the front and minimal insulation. But it Needs new suspension in all 4 corners, has an issue that can be multiple issues that will require Shotgunning parts at it, and a fledgling hacked together system of electricity distribution. However you have a set of french doors ready to go into it.

edit parts shotgun thoughts
Torque converter (transmission bits $$$$), EGR valve, Idle control, vac leak, spark plug wires, coil, spark plugs, distributor, PCV, MAP/MAF sensor, Throtle body, TPS,

Know when CO is more likely to be produced from exhaust?

When your vehicle has issues with combustion which might be happening if like let's say your vehicle has issues with stalling or it's just idling after starting and the catalytic converter isn't warmed up enough to burn up any byproducts of incomplete combustion

Edit: It's not loving cookie monster sometimes snack it's happening all the drat time in your truck when you're letting it idle to charge your batteries for your wall sconces and toilet eve.

Who the gently caress is Dave Ramsey? I'm not googling this poo poo.

Dave Ramsey is a Jesusy "financial guru" who likes to hold maskless parties and gathering superspreader events.

In terms of financial advice he's Alcoholics Anonymous for debt.. he provides basic adivce to budget, and focus on getting out of debt, having an emergency fund.

His callers tend to be
"Dave I'm 20k under water on my truck, I'm thinking about trading it in and getting another truck but putting them on a 10 year paymetn plan so I'm actualy saving money"
Dave: NO YOU ARE AN IDIOT Pay teh truck off.. stop spending money on luxuries and start paying off debt etc
Caller: WOW YOU ARE JENIUOUS
Dave: Dont forget to pray and pay the church.

edit: OH GOD why why do I try and help?
Ry if you're going HARD into Dave ramsey why are you failing so much at it. his baby steps

0. Establish a budget (his is everydollar but there's YNAB, mint, budgetwise etc)
1. Establish a 1k Emergency fund. IN LIQUID CAPITAL not investments or 401k
2. Pay off all your debt (subtext, don't get a $2,000 loan shark in case you were wondering)
3. Save 3-6 months living expenses (I mean currently yours are like zero but whatever)
4. 15% into your 401k (NOT TO GANK FOR LOANS TO YOURSELF)
5. Invalid
6. pay off your home (your truck is paid off currently).

By the way.. his belief on home loans is 15 year mortgage with 20% down. not borrow from your 401k.
A better way to think of this if you don't need AA for Money
A mortgage currently COSTS LESS than investments. My 1 year old 30year mortgage isn't great at 3.5% . My gains in my 401k in the last 12 months.. 25%, average rate of return should be expected as 7-10%
Buy a house you can afford with a 15 year mortgage and 20% down. Pay the 20% down but get a 30 year mortgage so you can pay down at a 15 year rate, but if you have an emergency / income disparity.

YOU NEED A BUDGET!
Start today.

1. Chicken tendis 600 a month
2. Deathmobile insurane: 100 a month
3. Cell phone for toilet eve: 100 a month
4. Vehicle maintinance: 300 a month (you need ot bulid up so you can fix it's many deficencies)
5. Toilet paper for tendies: 100 a month
6. Transportaiton / gas: 150 a month.
7. Medical: 100 a month
8. Clothes: zero, 4 clothes is enoguh clothes
9. Loanshark: as much as possible to get rid of the loan

Put the rest towards your other goals like savings for properties, or a livable truck.

Ryan truck charges the batteries in his back room. Which is by his sleeping mat zone. So hopefully by atmosphere you mean something like 'contains air' and not, 'somewhere outside the living space'. What can go wrong with a marine battery off gassing into your living zone.
