Was the table chat in a mix of languages? Was weird in Macao, but I had someone to translate most of it for me.

Any idea on what comps were like? Should have asked you to take a peak at the blackjack tables, if there were any.

I only heard some Khmer from the locals talking to each other, and some Korean away from the table, but otherwise it was all English. I think one thing about Macau is that the locals speak Canto/Mandarin and the tourist also speak Canto/Mandarin you definitely get way more people more comfortable speaking some variant of Chinese, but because the casino here caters to people from all over Asia more people just tend to stick with English.

I didn't ask about comps directly, but its apparently $1/hr 1/3, $1.50/hr 2/5 and $2.50 at 5/10. For reference I ate a meal and had a drink in their Food Hall and it came out to about $7.

A lot of the casino floor space is dedicated to the computerized roulette tables. I did see Blackjack and some Asian Card Game that I've never heard of but didn't get the name of (pretty sure it wasn't Sic Bo since that uses dice). I did want to see if they spread Pai Gow but even though they listed it I never really saw a table, neither the card or the domino variant.

So I guess I'm the only one traveling and gambling instead of doing fun stuff and/or relaxing? Haha..

It looks like I'll be in Vietnam in January. I think they have casinos but cash games are not legal, only tournaments.. Anyone ever played there?

I don't know if anyone will reply to say "yes," but it sounds interesting and I hope you can give us a trip report!

Long story short, I tried applying for a Vietnam Evisa while I was in Thailand, well right before I flew out there. They took a couple days and then rejected my initial submission because I have a non alphanumeric character in my full name that their submission website would not let me enter so my full name did not match. I resubmitted and didn't hear back from them... About 4 days out from my planned trip, I changed my flight so I'd just be staying in Thailand.

They approved my visa the next day but gently caress if I'm paying more money to switch back after all that! Fix your drat website Vietnam!

So sorry, no trip report.
