ORWO is making some noise about brining some films back, and not just for cine. UN54 would be nice to get in 120, but

Good news for film nerds. They've also talked about some colour film, and announced their companies have now also been reunited under one roof (ORWO and Agfa) and they'll be bringing new film and old emulsions out.

This is cool and new b&w film is always cool, but what the film world really needs is someone else to make color film. Kodak is about to be the only game in town when Fuji finally sells off all their crap.

EDIT

speaking of fuji... https://kosmofoto.com/2021/03/fujifilm-announces-new-film-price-rise/

That turned out nice.

What film format and scanning technique? I’ve got 35mm handled well enough via and old Scan Dual III, but I’m struggling to get good results with medium format in my v600.

Its 35mm HP5 scanned with a Plustek 8200i.

Cool. Thanks for the tips. I’ve tried buying the betterscanning holder thingy but the fuckers won't write back to me to confirm my order via their jankety website

Many months ago I used a 35mm to 120 take up spool with a roll of Kodak TMax 100. Sadly I screwed up most of the shots, probably because I didn't attach the film to the takeup spool properly (use tape), which may have led to the film getting snagged. I should probably try it again. Thinking back on it it was difficult to estimate what would actually end up in the photo, I with more practice I could have probably avoided the trees in the bottom right. Anyway, here's the first photo and probably the best that I got from the roll.

The takeup spool was pretty similar to this one, https://www.printables.com/model/228999-120-takeup-spool-for-35mm-film

it would be super easy caf those trees out

Another reason to be mad at Adobe:

(every photo you sync to their cloud gets used as input for machine learning stuff, unless you opt out in the privacy settings)

Joke's on them using my pictures to train an AI, unless it's a tool to identify lovely photos.

Just start feeding it goatse

I’d get it all at once so you can film test it. Would suck to buy some component only to discover after you’re able to do a return that it’s hosed.

Got an email yesterday saying "We’re reaching out again to remind you that because you haven’t had a subscription that includes cloud storage in over a year, your Lightroom cloud content will be permanently deleted in 7 days.". Which isn't true at all. Contacted support and they were like "lol whoops didn't mean that." I still don't trust support so I'm trying to make sure I don't lose anything if they delete all my poo poo in a week.

I think they deleted a bunch peoples poo poo like right after Lightroom cloud came out, I don’t trust adobe at all.

I keep my photos on a nas that backs up my photo library to backblaze
