This is a very small thing but a couple of weeks ago somebody busted out a cross arm breaker and Tony Schiavone called it that, then Taz goes "I prefer to call it a jugi gatame but to each their own." And Tony then tried to say it but flubbed it.

At Dynasty (I think during Roddy vs Kyle) there was a cross arm breaker and Tony goes "the jugi gatame!" and I 100% imagine him turning to Taz and smiling a big old smile.

I gotta say, one thing that AEW has always had over every other wrestling company in recent memory is just how much fun the commentary team sounds like they are having

It always galls me to listen to wwe commentary, when it sounds so wooden and forced

Is that what Tony's saying? Because he was doing commentary with MLW before joined AEW.

AEW commentary is generally always very good and very fun, but Dynasty had some of the best commentary moments in recent memory. Tony even said "yeah of course we're having fun, we're watching wrestling" which feels like the unofficial motto for AEW.

I say it every time I notice it but since becoming the lead PBP on Collision you can just tell whenever Excalibur has told him a move name because he clearly uses the Fire Pro names for them, and Ex has not made it a secret that he learned so many moves through Fire Pro Returns  It's so cute :3:

His MLW commentary was so refreshing. It sounded like he was falling in love with wrestling again as he was calling the matches.

Current MLW, yes. 2019 MLW... less so but it might give a WCW survivor some PTSD. But he was under an MLW contract and they had to do some work to get him out of it so he could come to AEW. So he was pretty up for the idea.

MST3K style commentary and skits from Ex, Taz, and Tony. McGuinness plays the role of the Mads and just sends them matches where Danielson gets beat up.

She is one of my favorite performers after the Phoenix show. I simply yelled "LET'S GO STAT!" during the Rampage match and she whipped around and nearly jumped the barricade to yell at me. So much fun.

I still have not forgotten the AEW PPV where Danielson made his debut. When he got into the ring, the crowd going nuts, the heels backing off. Tony just goes "God, I love pro wrestling", and you can tell that was a honest reaction.

It's impossible not to love the commentary team, because they're all clearly having a good time and enjoying being there.
