Some teeth long for ripping, gleaming wet from black dog gums. So you keep your eyes closed at the end. You don't want to see such a mouth up close. before the bite, before its oblivion in the goring of your soft parts, the speckled lips will curl back in a whinny of excitement. You just know it.
I'm behind but I looked at the spoilers and :stare:

what the gently caress were the voters doing for these last two awards?

His best performance was being James Brown and nobody really noticed that. He just didn't have that much of a body of work for people to recognize and wasn't part of a major cultural huge movie that year like Ledger.

That ending was so set up for Chadwick to win that it's almost disrespectful. :psyduck:

Nomadland winning best actress but not cinematography or screenplay is bizarre. I'm glad I didn't enter in a pool this year.

He and Delroy Lindo probably merited recognition, even though the movie wasn’t great (though probably better than half of the big nominees)

Ledger still doesn't win that Oscar if he's alive, though. There is such thing as a "oh poo poo you died" vote and Hopkins already had one. The voters knew what they were supposed to do.

Who the hell would be angry about that? Like I'm also kinda bummed Chadwick didn't win, but it's not the first time we don't have the clear favorite not win an oscar. It's not like anyone was gonna throw tomatoes to Anthony Hopkins or anything

I think people get upset when the academy prioritizes recognizing actual artistic achievement instead of just chasing trends.

he was good in that but man did not care for the film. I thought it was going to be about how both the soldiers and the Vietnamese would find common ground as they figure out they were both victims of the war. Instead it goes an hour too long and ends with the Americans non-ironically mowing down more Vietnamese.
