We brought in two newborn kittens in October after we found them abandoned in our backyard. Everything was great for a while. We love the little scamps and they are cute as can be. Now, as they get bigger and older and start to prepare to shed for the warmer weather, my wife has unfortunately developed a miserable allergy to them that has resulted in her essentially having to quarantine in the upstairs bedroom to breathe normally. As this is obviously not sustainable, we are looking into rehoming. She is beside herself with grief at having to rehome them, and so am I. But Claritin hasn’t helped, her ear has started to swell, and her doctor has advised it is most likely cat allergies. When she’s up where the cats have not been allowed, things are fine. Is there anything that has worked for other cat owners here to greatly reduce symptoms? Her health has to come first but we’d both be way happier if there is any possble path to keep the little chunguses.
