My complaint thus far is: Chill the gently caress out agents. Its not that they're dangerous... the game is literally telling me when they're coming and what types, but the problem is by that token they have to be a clear and present danger so they literally rocket into my base and b-line straight to the incriminating poo poo... I liked the old game where they'd wander around in all the spaces like hapless dolts till they spotted something. Now they're fully chill-less and it means they're more predictable AND less interesting overall. I preferred when they'd be constantly coming but less individually threatening.

Yall really think I'm waiting on that slow rear end copter to extract you, steal some fuckin' bitcoin while you're dying.

Ok so how the gently caress do I make the super agents stop? Seriously I've barely begun I don't have an answer to these teleporting fuckheads who keep appearing. I've literally let them steal my poo poo because its straight up less work than dealing with symmetry appearing for the third time this week.

You can get agents to stick around your cover op a little longer by adding side rooms with rest facilities for your valets, which is good practices but also gives them more doors to investigate... its not going to help you much but maybe eventually one of your valets will do their loving job?

IRIS's camera mode also pops disguises and is generally pretty useful. Zalika and Iris are my picks and they're both extremely proficient at shooting from afar but don't let them into melee no matter how much they friggin' wanna. Although the winning combo is tie the enemy up with Iris, pop camera mode till you're very close to dead than power-reroute while your minions surround the agents surrounding her to form the double-donut of death.

As far as I can square it what causes a super agent to invade is completing a scheme in a region they're present in. which sucks because they're all over the place. Eventually you kinda get a feel for who you can deal with and whats worth getting invaded over.

it took me so loving long to figure out auto-tagging D: You gotta apply auto-tag zones from the lil menu. its not just a global standing order.

For anyone having trouble with agents going psycho when they stumble on a staff room I've found doing an 'open plan' deal like this works pretty well.

Major Isoor posted:How do you gain access to casino stuff like those palm trees and pot plants, btw? (Also, I respect your dedication to the stage shows! I thought I was overdoing it with two in one hall, but now I've seen the light ) As you gain new deception minions new casino decor unlocks! Also: Stage shows are mega efficient!! One minion can tie up a buncha agents for ages! My whole deal is a loop with three turns that has stages all over the place in little chicanes... the more you can run agents over the footprints of your casino floor stuff the more likely they get lured. Agents won't become intrinsically hostile if they get trapped before they reach your base, but the problem is your minions will attempt to lure them out of 'staff only' areas if they are 'distract' tagged, corridors count as staff only. So you need to keep the traps out of the line of sight of your staff or else they'll harass the agent. If they do that enough times the agent goes berserk. This can happen pretty rapidly if you have a dense amount of deception minions and a trap hallway with a level three door at the end and it pretty quickly leads to them shooting up the place. You could theoretically use a magnet trap to suck 'em in so your deceivers don't have time to harass but the problem is techs working on traps will also harass... I really wish you had another auto-tag order that was 'Really, ignore people here. Seriously. I mean it' I've had some fun making magnets with bumpers in their path that bump the agent to a second side corridor through little slippery floor 2x2 holes in the wall, than fan them to the back and coating the rest of it in darts. Works pretty good. Agents mostly fuckle your traps if they're allowed to walk over them but once you get them moving they can do nothing about it, slippery floors will allow you to basically keep the momentum as they slide around and they'll take hits from darts they pass through... plus they'll stop and try and disable each set of darts one by one which gives the whole thing time to reset and suck them back in again. I have no clue tbh. Although I'm pretty sure its gradually or negligible in comparison to your general income by midgame. Just hit those gradual income schemes every now and than. Stuff of note: Symettra and her goons and I'm pretty sure no other agent type at all don't or can't deactivate pay walls. So placing the 30 second ones regularly throughout your trap halls can slow her right down. Dosn't work on defecting minions but all other traps do so its whatever. Nuclear War posted:Ok how the hell am I supposed to deal with synmetry ? her goonsquad teleports in, avoids every trap without fail on their weird forever cloaked walk around the base and IF i catch them i better pray its not in a chokepoint cause they will murder a 100 guards and mercs without a second thought in melee. is there a trick to making traps catch high level agents? Symmetry early game is VERY much a pain, she is the strongest super agent hands down. However, shes pretty predictable in that she teleports directly to your vault. So its less about keeping her out and more about keeping her in since she is the only threat too the vault directly. It can be difficult to make trap configurations that catch her but you can... The long range magnet is capable of snatching her and her goons and once you have them moving you can bop them into a shark tank or whatever. Plus, traps keep her busy because she has to disable them one by one when moving around. Early game the key to killing her is hench micro, don't stand and fight, run behind doors. wait and when she busts through take some cheap shots and repeat. Also: Don't put cameras on your vaults... Sending your entire squad to fight in a vault means she can generally 300 Spartans your entire base because the vault is a crouded place if you're building it correctly. Its smarter to have one entrance to your vault, a trap tunnel, and a camera and ambush point with some guard posts beyond that, delineated by laser doors that take her a sec to bust through. The traps slow and potentially weaken and than after that the initial guards keep her in place while the camera sends the goonstorm down on her. You'll end up with a sea of body bags but thats just the deal... plus the trap tunnel will kill anyone defecting!

probably not, there's some real fuckin' stinkers. Incendio is absolute dog poo poo. Still, if you ever need rid of a hench for more space you can execute those suckas Seriously, just execute incendio, His quest is absolutely attrocious, his power set is 'Aoe resolve damage' that does barely anything and has trouble catching a group of investigators and 'Hide from tourists' Yes. Thats literally it. His ranged attack is a small AOE that hurts anyone engaged in melee with the target and damages machines. He is not just worthless, he is worth less than nothing. Jubai still amazing. Iris is extremely good first pick, her camera move especially is mega handy early and remains so forever (it works even when symmetry fucks your cams). Barracuda is... solidly mediocre? He fights good his gun move is cool if a little underwhelming and he has for some reason a social move that outshines anything Incendio can even do (and he purports to be a social minion!!)

Slot machines damage skill on top of making cash and requiring no staff too so if they DO find themselves somewhere they're not supposed to go they're usually at zero skill and cannot go all "I FEEL THREATENED" about it.

Body bag piles are the number one cause of mass defections so make sure you have a buncha tv's in your incinerator room too. A trend I'm noticing among the reviewers panning the game is they constantly tell on themselves about how they're incredibly poo poo at the game? Like one of them was bitching that he built his inner sanctum too far from his training room and that due to this he was unable to utilize maxwells training thing effectively. The thought or concept that the base is literally under his control and that failure was both his own dumb gently caress fault and easily rectifiable was beyond him. This is some cuphead poo poo. A good move I've found for intell bottleneck is to make a small room with about three computer consoles on each wall and another few surrounding the center. Big enough that your genius' aura can reach the edges. Than stand in it and use your aura to force people to work the consoles. By the time you run out've moral and need to sit you're usually topped up, keep a throne nearby but its more efficient to use the full size of the room for computers.

Guard posts and guard tables are the same base class of item in the game with a different priority level. But guard tables tie up a LOT of guards per table and are higher priority which means if you have a large reserve of table space your posts never get manned because of the swapping in and out. You need spare guards than spare guards on top of those spare guards before your posts start getting manned. If you wanna lower that buffer you can put food and beds right by your tables

Woodstock posted:And then some. Played the original and was looking forward but apparently this game is built like a F2P game. Reading more it looks like there are lots of weird timers, arbitrary fillers, and balance issues reminiscent of a cell phone freemium game. I mean, really, there's even a bunch of random "do 10 [random activity] and collect a reward!" things that come and go. It's like the game really wants to sell people microtransactions, without actually having them. Ain't nobody got time for that. I think maybe at some point during development they were actually looking down the barrel of something like this, the paywall trap kind've makes glib reference to an idea along those lines.
