Do advanced guard posts literally do nothing? I have several, and like 10 spare guards/mercs and no one has ever stood in one unless I was at alert, which is exactly the opposite of their description.

Also, the next main story beat is to dig out the bottom level of my base so I can use my superweapon? I don't even have level 3 tech yet. I can dig down one single level as far as I can tell. That's like level 5? I'm 20 hours from that even being an option as far as I can see.

This quest is worded confusingly. You just need to find the hole in the middle of your lair and dig into it as if you're opening a new room. You should see 12 highlighted squares to dig.

When a henchmen gets back up after being defeated they have an "Injury" trait or something like that which you can see on the upper left when they're selected. You can use them, but they won't heal in the Lair until it goes away.

The one thing I wish they would bring back form the first game is the ability to increase the rate that yellow jumpsuit minions join. In the first game you had a slider where it was $0 for 1 minion per minute, and you could slide it up to something ridiculous like $10,000 for a minion every 5 seconds or something. I believe they also came in through the stockpile they grab purchased items from rather than the helicopter.

But having to buy minions in bulk, and having to wait for them to arrive on the helicopter, feels like a real choke point for the game. Every scheme costs yellow minions and you should be able to increase the flow at which they come into your base rather than set bulk purchases.

* Zalika's ability text is misleading. The boost to brainpower only seems to apply to research activities. I've had her stood over scientists working intel desks and watched their Brains meter tick down as usual. Still useful for directing minions to focus on the task, of course, but you don't get the genius-specific bonus.

Noticed the same. Research activities restore smarts to minions so as long as Zalika is around they will never stop researching. I think it adds a small bonus to their research too?

It definitely felt like it was going faster for me when I had her aura up than when she had to go sit down and restore stats.

Either way you get a bonus for not having naptimes without a lot of micromanagement if you buff your genius' stats. For some reason every group of research scientists for every project and half my guards are naptime buddies. I keep seeing 50% of my guards get up to go hit the barracks after spending all day sitting around the guard desk.

It makes me wish there was a coffee machine item or something that increased their time awake by a random amount of 3-10 minutes just so it would be more staggered out.

What's the trick to a good cover op? Not sure on how i should be arranging things

I found that the little rope things are good for snaking the agents toward parts of the casino further away from your entrance and past games you want them to play. Also socialites are made specifically for the casino and do more damage to the blue stat. Been a while since I played though.

Try to get slot machines asap. They pull agents really well and also generate cash way faster so you can dedicate all your tables to distracting agents.

Any reeasoning behind reducing resolve vs skill? Is there an order I should go about it or just mix along the way

Not 100% on this but I think lowering resolve makes agents leave the island faster while lowering skill makes them less likely to bypass traps. I *think* agents with zero resolve behave like tourists and stop trying to investigate, meaning they'll just bumble around the cover operation.

Can someone post in this thread once the game is good?

It's loving great. The point is that Evil Genius has always been about building a perfect ant farm for evil. If you build it then it's not fun, the game is over and you have created the perfect machine to convert resources into evil. So the game has to have a lot of rough edges that keep loving you up to try and perfect the ant farm.

It's kind of a punishing game by nature.
