I shot these with the same lens (which I got off Aliexpress for the records)

It only flares when pointed at strong light sources. The vignetting and swirliness around the edges is always there.

edit: even Flickr really fucks up shadows - if you download it at original size, the shadows above the door don't look nearly as blocky. Ugh.

idk if flicker does this but imgur defo reencodes png files but leaves appropriately sized jpegs alone. take control

There was a huge lightning storm out over Lake Michigan last night, so I hauled the ol 5D Classic out to try to capture some lightning.

Shot stopped all the way down to F22, ISO 100 with 20 second exposures.

Finally got my first film shots, taken a year ago, scanned. The roll was mostly a wash but I think these two came out nice.

I like them both :) The framing of the photo taken at Økern T is pretty cool.

I went downtown today to buy a smartwatch and ogle cameras I can’t afford (a9 III was pretty neat) and ended up running into a “revolutionary Marxist” peace rally.

Slogans included “Crush Russia’s invasion of Ukraine!” and “Condemn Israel’s mass genocide of the Gaza people!” which is a lot nicer than black van brigade at the very least.

That's cool. Really like the framing of this one, an interesting mix of isolation and comradery.

How do your photo walks work out? The ones I've been on have all been the group stringing out over a half mile of trail and no one really able to hang out because of it.

I guess it's a little easier to stick together in an urban area.

Some people are more interested in community others in taking photos. All of the group photo walks I've been on I end up way ahead or way behind. Doesn't matter, took photos, had a beer after.

Well we usually have a route planned, and people wait at certain positions, gather together again. Quite well in my experience.

Listen buddy, we all got problems!
I live next to a forest now, so that's all I take pictures of. That and birds.
Trying to capture the beauty of a forest is HARD, you see something amazing but its just too noisy to make a good image once you get home. Well practise makes perfect.

Here's a bunch of practise.

These are all really nice but 3 and 5 are my favourite. I know what you mean about it being too noisy, absolutely a struggle.

That's why woodland folks have a fetish for fog. I feel like it's kind of a cop out and produces a lot of samey looking photos but it sure as heck is effective. I definitely get happy when I'm in a foggy forest.

For sure, I frequently find myself in areas that look gorgeous, but the pictures I take are directionless and messy.

It’s like thr primary reason I don’t really shoot landscapes
