I have a thing for cool gauge designs and I especially like when the standard two gauge setup gets shaken up

This is an older Yamaha of some vintage that I can’t find.

This is a 66 Suzuki T20. I especially love the odometer setup :allears:

This is an older Honda 305 with the same setup

1966 CB77 Super Hawk :swoon: this is the one that started my weird obsession

I don’t know why but I really like and care about gauge design. I’m the wii-u water noticing guy but for bike gauges

It’s wild that companies used to make pretty decent replicas of their GP bikes and sell them. That’s basically what the RD350 was as well

That’s a bike that you suffer through it’s unreliability to get to the sweet sweet two stroke performance that sometimes appears. I did that with my RD350. Something was almost always wrong, but when it wasn’t, wow was it a blast

Also I’m pretty sure every high strung two stroke sportbike is unreliable by todays standards (and yesterdays standards)

I noticed something on my new goldwing today that made me think of this thread.

On the little cover that covers up the plug wires, there sits a little plastic ramp. It’s right in between the valve cover and the fairing

The plug wire cover is perfectly placed and shaped to take rainwater and funnel it onto your leg by the gallon

So Honda built a little ramp to basically make the water from this channel spray around your legs while it’s raining.

It’s nearly unnoticeable, and just a little thing that shows attention to detail and I love it.

It’s buell so it is riddled with design decisions that seem good on paper but are dumb as hell in real life.

Also is it really a buell if it doesn’t have ZTL brakes?

What I want to know is how does it work if the engine stops perfectly at TDC or BDC
