I bailed on Graduation early on, but I can only imagine how it would've gone if they followed through on Travis' original idea to create a new RPG.

If all this drama leads to Justin hosting a new version of the New Yankee Workshop it'll all have been worth it.

This seems like the best direction. I personally think that a lot of what made Balance work was that it was barely a D&D podcast. The rules and systems were part of an improv prompt rather than something they adhered to. While Tres Horny Boys famously forgot about most of their magic items, I can't imagine them getting anything like the Ring of the Gramarrian or any of the other "free pass to gently caress this scene up" items in nesty or Graduation.

Divine Wood was possibly Clint's high point in 70 goddamn episodes of that show. I'd never played D&D when I first heard that, and was on my second extended campaign on my second listen, and exclaimed gently caress YEAH! both times, and both felt earned to me.

I've had to rewatch that about a half dozen times. The announcer's pronunciation of "Dog Dick" with the name "Porpo Dorpo" in fancy TV graphics pop up makes me laugh so hard it hurts.

Good to see they're sticking with the release schedule. Even the first season drug all to hell when they had the long delays due to kids and whatnot. I'd venture that the second and third runs would have been better received if they kept pumping them out, but I can see where that wouldn't be viable.

I’m guessing they’re recording big chunks at a time so Griffin has ample time to score and edit the show. The amount of work involved for Griffin would be insane if he had to do it all in a week.

I gotta say, of the TAZ I've listened to, this is the first time I really feel like all three of the players are playing characters I'm really digging. Zoox's bits with the clam and his emptiness are really working for me in particular. I also appreciate that they've all played enough D&D to make batshit choices that make Griffin scramble to keep up.

Zooks and Clint are who concern me.

I fell off of Ethersea right around the Auction (I was enjoying it but couldn’t keep up with it going weekly and lost track) and have been going to sleep at night relistening to Balance. I woke up the other night to find my podcast player cued up a recent Ethersea episode, and I listened just long enough to hear Clint attempt to cast a spell he didn’t know. I love him so much.
