Boy my opinion of Atom Eve sure changed over the show. At first I thought she was pink Starfire. But then oh wait no she's more like Raven and Starfire combined- wait still no, she's like a pink Green Lanter- Okay still no, a combination of Green Lantern and Firestorm.

Wonder how they're going to take things in the future. Are they going to use Omni-Man's blood to try and make their own clone like Superboy or are they gonna start putting it in people and make some pseudo Viltrumitians.

It's also very refreshing to have a superhero setting that seems actively hostile to having a status quo forever after 32 Marvel movies that're having massive changes in the world at about 1/40 the speed they happen in the real world despite the aliens and magic and etc. It's probably just that I haven't been reading/watching the right stuff beyond this but it was cool how many plates this show's spinning between the Mars hivemind, the Flaxens, that revived green mummy thing, stuff like that.

I'm pretty sure you see Mark level up at least in two seperate episodes. I can't remember exactly where, but there was two, maybe more, different fights where he has basically had enough and there is like a blast and he knocked the poo poo out of whoever he's fighting. I think one was when the new guardians were fighting amongst themselves at their trial?

It was one of the Flaxan invasions where Atom Eve had her airway blocked and she was about to be killed by their general or whatever and the MachineHead fight before the new Guardians showed up.

Speaking of which, how far along into the comic is Battle Beast supposed to show up, because everyone keeps going 'No yeah that about tracks with his strength as established so far.'

But they're everywhere though. If they were new and just showing up like Marvel, DC and The CW likes to present it, that'd probably work but there's at least one or two teenage superhero teams out there now so eh. Stop making promises and blowing them by 3 hours you jackass. Just don't agree in the first place if you can't keep the commitment!

If Amber wants to be such a hero why doesn't she stop working at the soup kitchen and go get nearly beaten to death by her dad like Mark does?

Ccs posted:

I think it's partially explained by his failures in earlier parts of the relationship, but also a bit of a writing problem because they really wanted it to be a big reveal when Amber admits that she knew for weeks, so they've got to keep their cards close to their chest and write as if she didn't know. That's why we don't get any reaction shots to her being concerned when Invincible is being pounded by the Reanimen or anything. I mean, she's seeing her boyfriend put up a tough fight to save people but as far as the writers want viewers to think at that point, she's just seeing a superhero arrive to save them.

They should've used some of the leftover Nolan tension and added that to Amber's scenes when she was mad at Mark.

This comic book takes the violence too seriously, which is bad. It should be more like Mortal Kombat and have people taking selfies with the chunks of former civilians and making heart-shaped holes in people's torsos. That's that good poo poo. Proper gore makes you laugh.

It's a wonder that this show got as popular as it did, despite it not having a stunning opening like the first 2 minutes of the walking dead. No way people can stick to a show for 3 episodes these days.

It's kind of bizarre that the most standard Superman-esque stories nowadays seem to be "What if Superman was evil?" or "What if Batman punched Superman in the face?"

I watch just a few Karl Smallwood videos because I know basically nothing about any comic book events that aren't animated and suddenly youtube thinks I wanna see 'Spider-Man HUMBLES the Avengers' and 'Ant Man puts Hawkeye in his place' and other garbage like that. It's never heroes fighting villains, it's always barely justified deep-sigh reasons like I'm going through the story mode of a fighting game and they really want Michelangelo to fight Cyborg.

I feel like people are way over-exaggerating the multi-verse trend. its always been a fairly common thing in sci-fi, and there doesn't seem to be any more stuff with it than usual. Maybe its because mainstream ultra-popular stuff has it.

I'm still locked in on enjoying it because as I was growing up Cartoon Network was either having tons of alternate/evil worlds in their shows or having the cartoons have crossover events like Fred Flintstone or Numbuh 3 being in a Billy and Mandy movie, or that Generator Rex & Ben 10 crossover thing and now I'm just unbothered by anything. Link, Darth Vader, Lloyd Irving, Ezio Auditore, Kratos and 2B in Soulcalibur? Sure why not? Super Robot Wars, Marvel vs Capcom, M.U.G.E.N., the entire conceit of the Smash Brothers series, Sonic the Hedgehog comics, I'm sure that at least 4 Star Trek series have had either an evil world or parallel dimension episode, etc etc you get the point.

I dunno, I don't really mind them at all. They're just a type of story as far as I'm concerned, like the rare musical, dream or body swap scenario.

Yes, Earthlings are committing war crimes in the pursuit of 'The Greater Good' but not for fun or racial purity. I'm conflicted because it's for the purpose of stopping a singular space alien from flying across the planet so quickly that they ignite our atmosphere, killing the entire population, but it's also extremely immoral.

Y'know what, I guess I'm just fine with evil if it's for a good reason. If you have to cut off a civilian's arm to decapitate a supervillain, I think I'm willing to accept that loss. Especially if you get them a prosthetic or get them to a hospital fast enough to reattach it.

Also, again, people can be in other places when chaos ensues. If the Guardians are out in Italy dealing with a ghost ship crewed by skeleton pirates off the coast of Tuscany and a scientist accidentally turns his entire laboratory staff into incomplete werewolves it's not like they can all say 'Everyone, hop the panel in this comic book and we'll be there faster than Speedy Gonzales!'
