I think based on a freelancer like Rittenhouse being allowed to disappear without consequences they will circle the wagons around an actual cop for sure.

I feel like all these murder 2/3 etc laws in various states exist specifically so that you can feel good about letting basically anyone off the hook. So vague, so hard to pin down if you weren't there. See Rittenhouse also

There's a lot of ways a fight with a knife involved might end up with someone hurt or dead and that sucks but running into the situation and mag dumping into a child guarantees it. It's a miracle he didn't kill anyone else. 99% of the time when kids, especially non white kids, fight it's just posturing anyway and anyone with sense knows this.

SHE WAS A SECOND AWAY FROM STRIKING is something we'll never know bc she was murdered by a racist cop. She was waving a knife in someone's face, an hour into an incident where she was holding off multiple attackers, and that's all we know right now. A lot more brandishing gets done than murdering in this country, something which cops are systematically trained to ignore.

It was brought up in the GIP thread on this that when you have 4 cops as they did here, even the notoriously brutal LAPD will attempt to use a taser and 40mm launcher while the other two cops stand by with guns, instead of 3 with hands in pockets and one going full auto.

The police need something more reliable than a taser, less lethal than a gun or a 40mm, and longer ranged than a nightstick. Maybe some kind of long, flexible, heavy stick, perhaps carved from a hippopotamus...
