Dub dropped on Crunchyroll, 2 episodes every Monday. Watched the first episode and it was fine but not the sort of thing I'll be reaching for. Kabasawa's and Kakihana's VAs were the clear stand-outs.

The movie is out on CR. While this movie is mostly a recap of what happened during the show through the eyes of the protagonists, it's one of those movies that assume you already watched the show, as weird as that sounds (I guess the most direct comparison I can think of is the Twin Peaks movie Missing Pieces). It also includes some extended scenes, and a bit more fleshed out epilogue. Stick to the credits! https://www.crunchyroll.com/oddtaxi/oddtaxi-in-the-woods-unknown-864717 Interview with Baku Kinoshita from when he visited Crunchyroll Expo https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-f...like-anime-next e: to actually add thoughts on the movie (re: the ending) I wish the director had stuck to his guns and kept the open ending. I'm not sure if the current resolution would be good enough for the people who hated the original ending, but I guess it's not open any more, now. It does kind of read like the madam karate'd the killer and saved Odokawa, if you look at it from a vacuum, and that was probably not the original intention. It's a decent companion material to the show as a character study for the entire cast, probably won't be everyone's cup of tea though (especially if you're just skipping to the end of it to watch the extended finale) Ignis fucked around with this message at 06:47 on Sep 11, 2022 |
