Can you just, like, get probed now and get this over with? Seems like this will be a waste of everyone's time. Mangadex sucks, I hate the new layout, they got everyone's passwords stolen, sure whatever, that's all true. But it's also true that they owe you literally nothing and I wouldn't complain even if they were personally stomping on your face and calling you names because frankly it seems like you'd deserve it. There is a difference between criticizing them and implying they are lazy. When they are literally taking their own time to do something for free. Criticize them all you want, call them dumb, call them incompetent, but whatever they are, it's not lazy. I'm probably just pissed off because I've seen way too many people like in my own (free) work. Nothing is worse than entitlement.

I think the website smells Frankly my only real concern is rebuilding my read list. It was pretty long, I've no faith in myself that I can rebuild it.

Seriously though, the new layout sucks balls. And I've noticed a number of what seem to be uploading errors in various chapters (could be the uploader's fault, but it seems to be somewhat widespread).

Honestly surprised they put in the effort to reopen, and didn't just use it as an excuse to move to a paid service. It's got lots of growing pains, but it's free and I'm not in a position to help so they can move at whatever speed they need to.

It's obviously still a work in progress, and probably will be for a while yet. And I'll take "sorta sucks" over "nonexistent." (Especially since the sketchier services I've been using in the interim haven't changed. I'll just be glad to go someplace not rife with porn ads once they're finished.)

Yeah the new layout isn't great but also it's still better than the alternatives I've seen (most of which I assume just skim from mangadex itself) and they've at least voiced intent to improve things so  It does what I really need it to do.

IIRC, they made the mobile/app version available for everything first and, from what's been said, the final desktop version is going to be more in line to what the previous interface was.

Yes, yes they did. I would imagine that qualifies as being unable to decouple from the security vulnerabilities, among other things. The folks online said they were looking into remaking the site and the hack just kicked that to the fore.

That's also something I like and funny enough the Cubari imgur interface that people started uploading too has that same feature of being able to toggle the page offset. So much better than having to mouse over the little bar on the bottom for every chapter.
