Crown had to be cut short due to budgetary concerns, so two full combats were left on the table; a showdown in a hookah lounge in Uvano and a meat coliseum in Carne. Those two factions not getting fully fleshed out kinda miffs me now that it's over and I know we won't be getting more.

That said, the ending made me openly weep.

Certainly possible, although my theory is that Someone stabbed Brockhollow in the chest while Mrs. Molesly was blacked out, and she only saw him struggling alone with the knife after she came to

Agreed. Honestly I'm hoping that they pull a "surprise magic is REAL" gag where it turns out that Grant has been a Rogue3/WizardX instead of just a Rogue 3 this whole time.

And yet I am jealous. I mean, I wouldn't pay that, but, somehow... I get it
If you happen to to have that much capital and are chipping away at knocking yourself into a lower tax bracket, they're great. That's like 80% of the reason those industries exist

The back half of A Crown Of Candy was cut short because Covid started popping off during filming. Lots of narrative stuff that could have been handled gently had to be brute forced in order to get the show out the door.

Saccharina immediately taking over the entire narrative just by existing is the problem the internet fixated on because it's an excuse to yell at a woman.

YggiDee posted:

hey, could anyone sell me on Crown of Candy? I know it's a really popular season but GoT-style political intrigue doesn't interest me, does it pick up later or should I just watch something else.
On its face CoC is inspired by GoT, but in practice the entire campaign is way more inspired by Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. The world is full of puns and jokes that none of the characters are in on, and the combat is designed to be random and lethal. Every time swords are drawn, no matter how high level a character is, whether or not they live or die is ultimately going to come down to a roll of the dice because swordfights are scary. It can be jarring if your touchstone for roleplaying games is post 3rd edition Dungeons and Dragons, where combat is purposefully gamified. I've heard multiple people claim that Brennan as a DM wasn't being fair with the numbers being thrown at the party, but he's also not trying to be; the combats aren't fair because this is a world where combat isn't fair. Every PC has a backup character ready to jump in if one of them bite it, so the tension runs hot and no one ever feels safe.

The back half suffers a bit. They had to cut four episodes out of the season, so the ending feels rushed and we never get to spend real time getting to know two of the factions Fructera and the Meatlands. It never stops being a rollercoaster of emotions, though, and the party's victories very much feel earned. The final episode reduced me to full tears.

The theme this year seems to be "Yeah, all those fun jokes you kept making the past two season? Here are the logical consequences of that".

Fig's constantly skipping class and loving off to go on shenanigans in town? You're failing out of school.
Kristen changes her deity once a season? You're also failing out of school.
Gorgug's multiclassing to Artificer? That doesn't make sense in-game and none of your class features work with each other. Porter's right; you can be an Artificer, or you can be a Barbarian, but you can't be both.
Adaine killed her parents? Cool, you're broke and being a Wizard is unbelievably expensive.
Fabian's finally found himself? That means there are stakes now, and you have to start taking classes seriously rather than sleepwalking your way through them while trusting daddy's money to carry you.
Riz at least I feel bad for, because while he's always been poor, he running into the fact that if you're poor and want go to a good college you need to be perfect. My sweet goblin boy did nothing wrong, but that's kind of the point.

I love it and look forward to getting my heart broken over and over this season

I watched the Adventuring Party and yeah, you're right, Porter's being a bad teacher
