its not really great with CMO but if you play any of the flight sim style games its pretty cool

You can see the yellow star that shows up when you damage the target. A full on miss would look different.

I guess it's possible, but the scenario design would have to happen at a very granular level to make it more interesting (different command structures within a faction having different sides, for example). CMO works best when you expect both sides to be operating in a very modern, very high information environment.
