The next to last paragraph sounds like Harvey is keeping autonation sponsorship, so that seems like a move to Andretti, not RLL. Especially since Rahal owns quite a number of dealerships — would they accept a sponsor that competes with themselves?

A friend of mine just told me that Mario crashed the 2 seater today. Don't have a source other than word of mouth but drat, this circuit even caught Mario out

Found this searching twitter. Looks like it. https://twitter.com/ExeBrett/status/1423887437156257792

Also dang there have been a lot of crashes in practice and quals today. That late set of crashes at the end of practice kinda bodes poorly for restarts tomorrow.

Well Sato did get Foyt his first (and only) win since Ayrton Daré in 02, and Grosjean has been doing decently at DCR. But yeah, probably no 3-peat for Taku.

Foyt may expand to 3 cars next year, with the driving lineup of Kellett, Calderon, and Bourdais (part time)/Ticktum.

This team should likely be a single car effort honestly. The last truly successful driver in this seat was Takuma Sato; it’s been a nightmare ever since.

Very few people probably cared but Kellett had a bunch of really bizarre mechanical failures, so I’m inclined to believe they really don’t give a poo poo about that entry.

Kellett is a pay driver, a thing that isn't uncommon with the less successful teams to help meet their bottom lines, but is it possible that maybe he has pay engineers or pay mechanics too? Possible, albeit unlikely, explanation for how bad his equipment has been in addition to his driving. Also, are they still a split shop between Houston and Speedway? That just seems so wasteful of their clearly limited resources, even if Super Tex doesn't want to live in Indiana.

In better news, Sato confirmed at DCRwRWR for the full year: https://www.motorsport.com/indycar/news/sato-coyne-interview-2022-potential/6866388/

I hope they can get him a good engineer since Boisson moved with Big John over to Andretti.
