If their plan is to have this midweek and still play in domestic leagues, and the federations hold fast to saying gently caress off you can't do this and stay in the domestic leagues and also your players can't play international football then it's not viable. They should go further and take FIFA accreditation away from any agents who deal with these clubs.

What's in it for the Prem teams? 4 of them are going to be displaced and the mid table have another two relatively well funded teams to compete with. 4 fewer fixtures but two extremely long away days for most. Plus the joy of sectarianism.

The problem with distance isn't the team's travel, it's the away fans.

Maybe I'm being dumb but what contract would ever stand up that compels you to join something that doesn't yet exist and doesn't have a mechanism to exist?

Eat it or refuse to pay up because you can afford the legal costs of contesting it longer than the clubs that are still desperately hanging on to the plan because it's the only way for them to get out of the huge amounts of debt they've got in without losing status

It must have been about a decade since the last impotent Ferrari breakaway threat, so we're due one anytime. The question is whether he can manage to be worse than the parade of failures they've had in the last 10 years.

that don’t make no sense

Surely it directly undermines their argument that nobody who has signed up can leave. If they only contractually agreed to go ahead in the event that FIFA/UEFA allowed it, and it's not been allowed, then there's no agreement to go ahead with the breakaway

At this point let those three teams play each other and suffer the fixture congestion or schedule their other fixtures to clash as awkwardly as possible

Not really sure how premier league fixtures will affect real madrid, barcelona and juventus, but the principle is sound
