I blame the Browns for grabbing the last first round CB, but woof what a reach.

I don't mind the player himself, but picking him at 28 was too drat high.

At least they didn’t trade up for him? Unfortunately once the CBs were all taken there just wasn’t and first round talent left at positions the Saints actually need.

The may have tried to trade back and not found any suitors. Nobody seems very enthused about the depth of this draft due to the limited combine, issues with medicals and truncated college seasons.

I'm confused. Does this mean the GM went over Davis' head? Or is fan reaction dictating the heads rolling aspect?

That's honestly the best part of it. I was thinking Sean was dangling that first and second round from next year.

If the Steelers ever manage to dump the fat rapist they might actually be a likable team, assuming you can ignore the awful Yinzer diaspora.

What have Gruden/Mayock got for that haul of picks they've spent?

Lmao Mayock.

Arif Hasan once again rules.

Also MN has 4 3rd round picks and 3 4th round picks. I expect some wheeling and dealing for probably a DE, DT or CB.

They also currently don't have a 7th round pick and I am now convinced that Spielman won't trade back so the universe can spite me for my new avatar.

I can understand falling in love with whatever weirdo player that no one else wants. That's fine. But why consistently loving over draft them when they'll still be available later? It's like brain worms. Trade down or take someone else.

Is this a Gruden pick or Mayock pick?

He is from a big school so it does have Mayock's fingerprints over it.

Rumor is that Mayock might be on the way out so I'm guessing his.

Though I can't imagine Gruden allowing a draft pick without his explicit OK.

Sometimes I think they get off on drafting a guy early and smugly defending the pick to the media.

I wanted fields but I get why they went with Horn. I'm ok with the pick. The defensive line is already sneaky nasty so investing in the secondary makes sense.

Panthers were horrendous at getting off the field on third down, and it wasn’t because of the pass rush. I think it’s a good pick, but Fields plays the more valuable position and he was right there.

If he ends up being great and we are stuck rebuilding because, surprise, Darnold sucks, then I will be pretty disappointed.

I sort of get why you would do this to try and increase the chance of you getting Lance, which was already nearly guaranteed. It's still not worth the costs of teaching your entire staff not to trust you. Behavior of an absolutely terrible leader.

Unless of course it's not true and this is just the line being fed to reporters so they can save face.

No I meant maybe 49ers staff did know about the smoke screen but lied to reporters. That woukd let the sensitive babies of NFL media tell themselves "I wasn't fooled. It's my source who was the rube."

I don't think the pick was ever Jones. Shanahan's system works so much better with a mobile quarterback with a strong arm. That describes Lance precisely and Jones not at all.
