So, if he is found incompetent to stand trial, is there a chance he would be institutionalized? Because that might be worse than prison.

This kind of reminds me of that serialized story about some mercenary in a future US that was on the front page for a little while somehow.

E: Searching, I can't find it for the life of me. It was some dude who was working with some douchebag, some reality show involving the remnants of the us gov't. Realizes at one point he's being set up to take the fall for the assassination of some organizer. Was in Cali I think?

WFH is basically going to be a non-negotiable with Millennial workers now, at least majority time. Good luck putting that back in the box, Corporations.

The new job I took has been work from home all but one day a week, which has been great. Even better is that my boss and his boss both support staying that way, but we'll see how DoD guidance goes for the civilian side.

poo poo like this ramps up my anxiety. I have an expectation that with the way voting rights are being cut away, we're going to end up with some fascist dominionist shitlord and that'll be it for the US.

This graphic is wrong. On the model 3 there is a manual release for the door at the bottom of the "handle" that contains the normal "open button".

The cars have enough issues to criticize, no need for people to publish things that are wrong. The drivers of that vehicle were morons. I have no doubt that they would have issues leaving ANY vehicle.

I think the point here is that having a secondary release that isn't immediately obvious is foolish. Or having a secondary release in general instead of having a single object that will open the door regardless of battery state.

All 4 doors on the model 3 have a very obvious manual release. It is so obvious that it is often used instead of the actual "button" that opens the door. This placement/lack of labeling has led to people damaging their cars (the "emergency" release doesn't always slightly lower the window which can be caught on the top "lip" of the frame for the doors).

This mechanism has been present since the launch of the vehicle. Anyone who is unable to exit a Tesla model 3 likely has issues finding their way out of cardboard boxes or paper bags.

The cars have plenty of issues, exiting them is not one of them.

My main issue is that there should not have to be a secondary release. In any emergency anything that needs to be used should be immediately obvious and having a secondary item that is not commonly used is poor planning.

But that said, the pension prefunding requirement that's the source of most of the pain is apparently about to die. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/19/us/politics/postal-service-reform-legislation.html

Getting rid of the pension pre-funding would certainly help.
