I went to NYC public schools and I don't see what the big deal is as nyc never never never ever calls a snow day, ever. Can someone explain to me what the big deal is? I think maybe there was one after a blizzard in 94 and I think some days for hurricane sandy, but that's it. I know those boogie westchester bitches have them all the time, but nyc just does not. There's no tradition of kids F5ing or listening to the news/radio for your school to close because you always already know you're going.

I remember one year we had 13 actual days of school in March because there was so much snow. This was in the Maritimes, a place with some of the highest unemployment in the country. Probably correlated. mom and dad fight a lot fucked around with this message at 22:48 on May 5, 2021 |

We once had a snow day in college so we all drank a bunch and sledded down hills on stolen cafeteria trays. We also did that when it wasn't a snow day, but the snow day made it special.
