So it's a minor thing, but how fast is that undead horse?

They left king zombie on the roof, to a completely different casino where they were told they had less than 9 minutes to search, yet he was still able to show up before they dipped.

I've heard of fast zombies, but that poo poo was ridiculous.

Overall, decent movie. Kinda weird to have a heist movie where the whole cast is brutally murdered, but hey, still good.

Fun fact, the pilot didn't film any scenes with the rest of the cast. The original was replaced for being a sex pest so they had her do reshoot and digitally edited her into all of her scenes. drat good job all things considered.

Zeus is basically a zombie superhero

He even had a cape

Semi-related, but Zeus, The Alpha, ascended from Olympus to fight those that would steal the fire of the gods. He met Vanderhoe, The Omega, in front of the Gotterdammerung, which means Twilight of the Gods, or doomsday, or Ragnarok, which ever you prefer. Dieter says it symbolizes death, and Rebirth. Zeus dies, Vanderhoe emerges from the depths of the Underworld, or Tartarus, after Ragnarok, reborn into something new

I'm pretty sure that Dieter is still alive, given that the two other prominent off-screen deaths were fakeouts. Maybe the helicopter mom, too.

This was a lot of fun, the more I think about it.

The unusual features of the plot explained:
The zombie disease is caused by alien nanobots, whose purpose is to rewrite the DNA of the infected so they can produce human-alien hybrids. The robot zombies are built by the aliens to monitor the situation up close.

Their own bodies aren't, they're just so cliché that convergent sartorial evolution made them look like the previous team.

One bullet. One gun. Six Chambers. These are my friends.
A lot of stuff in this movie might seem good on paper, but in execution it all fell flat. While I thought most of Snyder's Dawn of the Dead was solid, most of his movies fail to connect with me on any real level. The bits that are telegraphed as comedic don't actually contain anything funny. Nearly every dramatic visual revels in itself without stirring any genuine reaction.

I didn't hate this as a whole (and genuinely liked Bautista) but the entire thing just sort of happened instead of pulling me along for the ride.

Go back and watch the scene where the helicopter flies back to the Olympus, there's a fantastic shot going on underneath it with Zeus on horseback leading the zeds back over.

And after we did the dome rewatch last night, I can't really put dotd on the same level as Army, it feels so old and cliche. Army is only cliche in it's trappings but actually pushes several bounds most apocalyptic media don't touch, like a majority of the cast being PoC.

That doesn’t really help, arguably makes it worse. When I saw that I had the exact same “wait what?” reaction, at least without that shot you can maybe fudge the timeline to be good enough, but here he overtook a helicopter from the top of a building.

As a general rule, most helicopters fly at an average speed of around 140 knots. This equals to about 160 mph or 260 km/h. The helicopter’s average speed is affected by many things including the size of the chopper and what or who is on board at the time.

You used the word average for a reason. But if tactical realism is a sticking point for you in a zombie movie, then I can't help you.

The cruise speed of a Huey is four times greater than the average gallop of a horse, and more than twice the record for a sprint. More importantly, the helicopter had a head start.

But is the helicopter also a zombie? We saw two robot zombies (or is it zombie robots?), so it's likely Zeus is building towards getting a zombie helicopter of his own.

Anytime someone says something like that, I have to assume they stopped watching movies when the 70s system collapsed. The disingenuous reads that can be more applied to almost any other movie, but doesn't actually fit on snyder films since he doesn't actual follow convention, which is also their sticking point some how.

I don't care if someone likes a movie or not, but you talking about "Zack Snyder" genre is a hair away from all the other drive by hot takes I've seen. And it comes with many implications since a lot of culture critics have spent the better part of a decade calling him a fascist idiot that stumbles on ideas. When folks come in with boring takes like "pedestrian" action I can't help but wonder what they're watching, because most zombie media is shot like TV and or directly insprired by dawn of the dead. Just scroll through the dome thread if you need more examples.

There are like 6 other negative reviews before you and nobody said a thing about them because those posts are actually about the movie. You have not said a thing about the movie, all you've said is that it's weird to like anything the director has done. I don't know if you're aware (and I'm saying this in good faith) but a very popular tactic online nowadays is to basically call people moral degenerates or mentally ill for their media consumption choices, and so a lot of people have a hair trigger about that. Try talking about the movie.

E: This movie was great. It was fun, bright, and had good action and actors. I'd personally love to see ZS go harder in this direction because it means more movies for me to enjoy, and it felt way more accessible than his other work.
