As someone who managed to avoid most issues of the time, these write ups are super fascinating. I remember Threnody showing up as a big deal character in whatever issues I read of X-Man. I also remember Marrow showing up again shortly after Onslaught and joining the team, to the point I didn't even realize she got killed before that nonsense. I really like the above distillation on why Nicieza was one of the best 90's writers. He could really take an inherited status quo and make it shine.
