The hose on your windshield washer is probably old and brittle/hard. It happened on my (much younger) Corolla last winter. The bit that fit over the barb on the pump on mine had been stretched like the goatman's rear end. Put it back on, used it once, it popped off and drained the tank again. Had to cut the end of and shove it back on. Still holding. In your case it might be the whole hose if it's like 50 years old but that shits cheap.
