As far as newer talent is concerned, I think Athena Kugblenu, Helen Bauer, Ingrid Dahle and Kiri Pritchard Mclean would all be pretty solid.

Fern Brady was just behind John Robins in my 'would like to see because loving anything could happen but they'll never do it' list.

I feel like throwing water into the lake should have won but I can't justify that at all.

Taskmaster NZ definitely has a weird mixture as far as task quality is concerned. The chances of getting more than one decent/funny attempt out of 'become one with nature' was pretty slim.

Absolutely knocking studio tasks out of the park though, so ....

Let's face it, Jeremy is just poo poo at this. I have no idea what he's like outside of it, but he just doesn't seem to get Taskmaster. I can understand maybe not wanting to just copy Greg, but he doesn't bring anything to the show. He could be any old random light entertainment presenter.

I think Eclair will surprise everyone and be lovely and funny.

Self Esteem has played a whole set with a background saying 'FULL SEASON OF TASKMASTER WHEN?' Good question tbh.

Based on one episode, it feels like Gleeson GETS both the show and the Taskmaster character, without just doing an impression of Greg Davies.

Certainly an order of magnitude better than Jeremy Wells, anyway.

Thought Oz assistant was good this week. He was the only element I wasn't sure on last week. Series is legit!

As someone said, that's essentially year round good Taskmaster now, right?

Vegemite task was already an all timer but the bread did me.

To hype up the new series? Seems like based on previous filming timetables we might get it this month?

Maybe now John Robins is sober he'd be able to handle Taskmaster.

Not a podcast, but I'm almost done with Fern Brady's audiobook. It's really good and enlightening. Not your typical comedian autobiography because of the themes and places it goes but still darkly funny at times.

Not a big Off Menu guy but Victoria Coren Mitchell's episode is a stone cold classic podcast.

My Dad Wrote a Porno has to be worth a mention if we're talking Taskmaster contestant podcasts.

I've still only listened to the first series/book and gently caress knows how it's gone on for so long but it's very much worth a listen.

There's something off about this season but I can't put my finger on it. It's not the contestants, it's not the tasks (although they haven't been amazing IMO), Paul's great, Jeremy's poo poo but he always has been. I dunno, maybe it is the editing somehow.

I think I've said this before but John Robins is the person I most wanted but never thought would do it because, well, they're going to have a breakdown, aren't they?

Any news on a new Aus or NZ season?

Sophie's 'what's your name and where are you from?' to Robins got me.

There's actually six seasons of Taskmaster on Netflix UK for some reason, so I imagine that's definitely a possibility.

As lovely as it is to say that John Robins was funnier before he stopped drinking, it's also true.

He is good friends with Alex though and I expect we'll see some tasks specifically designed to annoy him, and he's always best when genuinely annoyed.

Just booking some stuff at Machynlleth festival next month and every show by a Taskmaster contestant (and Paul Williams) is sold out. It must be a hell of a boost to a comedian's career.

I was thinking the other day how few Welsh people have been on Taskmaster. Didn't expect one to turn up on TM Aus.

Edit: Oh, he's going out with Anne Edmonds. First TM couple? Always thought they could have done that with Elis James and Izzy Sutty.
