If he does get fired, I also doubt they make a public statement about it and call even more attention to it, he just won’t be on DoN and Sapp will report that he was canned sometime next week.

I really like the wrestling parts of AEW’s battle royales, but they really have to lose the 5 second of the timer hitting zero, playing a silent card animation, waiting a beat and then hitting music. Also, that pop Max Caster got felt very vindicating to me, a person who likes the Acclaimed. I do wish JR would stop trying to connect Pillman being over directly to the documentary episode about his dead dad.

I generally don’t care for Cody (or Jericho for that matter if we’re airing all of our grievances against guys who get to just do whatever they want for 15 minutes at a time), but there’s so much other stuff I enjoy that I can focus my mental energy on. That said, here’s hoping they renew the Dark Order’s push once John Silver’s healed up. Given the reaction that even 10 got they’re going to have to do something with them (Elite Hunter is going to need backup eventually).

I feel like they do enough “winner gets a title shot” gimmicks often enough that there doesn’t need to be a physical item that exists in perpetuity. I also get the feeling that Tony isn’t going to do a briefcase/money in the bank deal where you can call your shot anytime soon.

Looks like Awesome Kong’s contract finally ran out, she’s no longer on the roster page. Shanna’s also gone, but I have to assume that was a straight up release because when they brought her in they talked about her being signed for 3 years. Mel is still on there somehow.
