The little LJN logo by Cody's pic makes me think they're doing his figure in the style of the WWF Wrestling Superstars line from the 80s, which is cool (Jakks did the same thing in their WWE Classic Superstar line, though they were a little more cartoony)

I didn't get the Bucks LJNs because I'm not like the hugest Bucks fan, and I won't get the Cody one for the same reason but if they start doing these for other people I'd be all over it.

Seems like when they told Willie "you do Shida" it was meant, in context, "you translate Shida" and he did the poo poo he did which is at least a little reassuring about the other people on the team.

gently caress OSW - They have the worst public wrestling reviews I've ever seen. Especially in regards to women

They definitely got (a little) better about women over the years but some of the early reviews are pretty loving miserable in that regard. My partner enjoys the reviews because they're generally funny while also giving history to the casual viewer, but she also rightfully has big issues with their takes on women and how they talk about them.

As for tonight, we made our Texas caviar for snacking and I made some dough to make pizzas later. Maybe some Heath Klondike bars and green tea lattes for dessert. Stoked for the good wrestling!

Overall really enjoyed the show. Cody stunk and that match was a real snooze fest.

I do wish they had done more for Shida in her loss. Like others have said, it's a bummer that her reign was almost entirely crowdless and she didn't get to have these big moments/matches. It feels like she could be reset to just another person in the division until she happens upon a title match again since AEW doesn't do guaranteed rematches, and that stinks.

I dunno. I don't know if a double turn like others suggested would have been the best move, but it would have given Shida more oomph in the loss than she got this way.

Probably over thinking it and have general uncertainty about the women's division since AEW hasn't necessarily earned my "wait and see" trust with the division just yet. They've had good spurts, but it feels like it lacks the same long-term consistency as the other divisions/belts.

I knew the counter to Sky's slingshot cutter was going to be Sting catching him for the Death Drop but I still yelled like a child when it happened.

Also, my partner and I both yelled out when Sting took his shirt off and I uncontrollably let out a "YAY!!!" when Jungle Boy won the battle royale. I don't know if I've ever yelled YAY unironically before last night.

I really kinda love Wild Thing as a theme, especially as crowds are coming back. His old theme was nothing to write home about, it was just your basic, generic rock wrestling theme. This at least gets the whole crowd singing along and having fun in a way less obtrusive way than the extended Judas singalong.

Also, kind of hoping they keep the setup at Daily's Place for the next handful of Dynamites they're still going to be doing there before they hit the road. it made for some weird camera angles and missed shots as they got used to things, but it's sort of a neat shot having the hard camera in a spot where you see a crowd below/in front of the camera and across the ring behind the wrestlers. It's at least nice that AEW is routinely experimenting with layout like this and not stuck in the "hard camera here, entrance ramp on the left" for every show even though I know that's what we'll get in regular arenas post-Daily's.

I know a big portion of people here have been big on the "let Sammy and PnP get away from the Inner Circle and do their own thing" train for a while, but I feel like we may just be transitioning into Sammy being the leader of the Inner Circle. He got the big pin on Sunday and the post-match celebration was all about him, being lifted up onto their shoulders and everyone raising his hand. I'm wondering if part of Jericho's retirement strategy (whatever the timeline is for that) includes giving the reigns to Sammy to lead the group.

I can dream a different day about Hager somehow being ousted from the group/AEW in general.

I really want Heidi to show up and just loving run wild. Tommy End would also be cool, though the men's roster is and always has been very full so it's not as much a "WE NEED HIM" feeling for me.

I would have expected WWE to time releases so that they can't coincide with a big event like All Out because they're that petty, but here we are.

She would have made a great manager for Varsity Blonds if Julia hadn't appeared out of thin air.

Maybe she can show up incognito as one of Kenny's Cleaner Dancers and then waffle someone with a broom, just to add another dynamic to The Elite. Though I don't think we've actually seen the dancers in a while now, come to think of it.

I think she could probably fit somewhere in AEW as a manager and sometimes wrestler (kind of like Leva), but I don't think bringing her in to manage Miro would make much sense with his current gimmick of wanting to destroy all living things.

I feel like there are Tommy End conversations happening in different threads including ideas about him in AEW + Dark Order.

With Silver's tweet about the Dark Order not needing a leader, obviously we're not going to get someone new joining the group and taking it over. But, I think there could be some legs under the idea of End coming to AEW and being welcomed into Dark Order (because they welcome everybody), at which point he starts to try and turn the group back to the sadistic thing it was before. Not outright the leader, but trying to spin it to his own use instead of adopting the more laid back/goofy personas they have now.

I could eventually lead to whoever in Dark Order is most pure of heart (Cabana? Silver?) stepping up to him and either kicking him out of the group or just shutting him down while letting him stay in the group, until he breaks apart with his own new group to take Dark Order down.

It kind of has the same story beats as The Pinnacle/Inner Circle where a guy joins a group, tries to make it his own thing, then makes his own group to take down his old group. But, they could probably do it in a way where it doesn't feel so same-y.

Whatever happens, if anything, one of the nice things to speculate about new people coming to AEW is that there's so much for new people to do that isn't just "hotshot into a World Title feud" like TNA used to be notorious for. You can bring someone in who is high profile and has a lot to offer and still use them in mid-card/upper mid-card feuds for a while before putting them into the title mix and it feels natural and fun because the storytelling is generally pretty good.

Well right, that's why I'm saying nobody has to try to be an explicit leader. The nice thing about Dark Order is that they rally behind whoever the main person is at the time – from Anna to Tay (though she's not even officially Dark Order, is she?) to Silver to 10. You could easily do a similar thing with a new person coming in without making any overtures to them being the leader, just that the group is excitedly behind them succeeding until poo poo gets too heavy with a guy like Tommy End.

I'm sure this is all highly intentional but I was just thinking about Rampage debuting in a couple of months and realized that AEW being preempted to Fridays for a little bit leading up to it is a great way to condition fans to tune in on Fridays to see wrestling while also getting a sample size of the audience willing to tune in regularly on Fridays.

Maybe this can be my dream scenario (in that I actually had a dream where a thing like this happened) where Taz comes out to squawk about finding someone in the women's division to join Team Taz and the person in the ring thinks he's talking about them, only for Leyla to come in from behind and suplex them on their head to officially join Team Taz.

Also, what a perfect foil for Britt – her finisher very much relies on using her arm to apply the Lockjaw and Leyla loves snapping arms.
