By 2001 hard left Labour voters had already realised that Blair was just another Tory and the only choice we had was the colour of the rosettes, so they began to stay home.

DickEmery posted:How the gently caress is someone paying 140 quid a month for their phone? It's easy if you buy a flagship phone with unlimited data every year, because those contracts are £70 a month for 24 months. As for rounds, I was taught when young to never get involved in them for much the reason Jaeluni set out - if you're not buying the most expensive drink, you're subsidising everyone else's night out. Also unless you know you're having as many rounds as there are people and everyone is in on every round then it isn't fair on someone. That's how you really tell who you don't invite to the pub; it's the guy who insists on doing rounds and complains when you say you'll buy your own.

OwlFancier posted:I am not sure I really see a distinction there... If Couzens beat the poo poo out of her while raping her or to subdue her and she died of it, but he did not actually intend to kill her, that's voluntary manslaughter - he committed an unlawful act that resulted in death but without the intent to murder. If, however, Everard's fatal injuries can be proven to have been sustained either before or after the rape then the charge is murder. That's why Couzens accepted culpability but is not yet pleading. If he pleads guilty to murder then he's admitting intent that the medical report may not be able to prove, but if the coroner cannot prove that intent then he still has a chance to bargain with a guilty plea to the lesser charge. The long and short of it is that Couzens almost certainly did intend to kill Sarah Everard. He's just waiting to see if they can prove it.

Gillan is probably best known for being so shameless with her expenses claims that a Tory government had to remove the right for an MP in her constituency to claim for a second home. She overclaimed £2k for a mortgage on a house in Battersea that she didn't even need because her hometown is on the Underground.

Get diabetic socks. They're specifically designed to stop this happening. They have no seam at the toe, and the cuff is made to prevent digging in and maintain blood flow.

serious gaylord posted:This is something I have read about Gove a lot. That he was actually a very competent minister as Environment secretary in that he actually listened to people that know what they're talking about as he didn't have a clue about the subject and actively tried to implement their ideas. I've always seen Gove as someone who wants to do what's best, but doesn't as a rule know what is best. In Education he had a lot of lovely ideas and pushed them through because he believed they were right. In Justice he undid a lot of the poo poo Grayling did because he believed it wasn't just. And in Environment he knew he didn't know, so he asked people who did. But it's all filtered through being a Tory. Also I see we've gone from COVID-19 straight into JAVID-21. We're all doomed.
