'97 was a weird year. It's hard to explain what it was like for me, but the media, society, music and emerging nationalism bollocks was enough to make me escape to mainland Europe for 5 years. Stupid nostalgia, green tinted spectacles and failing health sadly forced me to return....

In 97, it was still possible to work in a high street retail job and earn enough to rent a nice sized one bed flat in Plymouth and still have money for toys and fun. Pretty much everyone had workers rights too, including sick pay and holiday pay.

The issue with Gove isn't that his alleged affair is/was with a man, it's supposedly a poweful ex spad who now works in Downing Street, and who is now best mates with Carrie. There's a lot of optimism that the younger generations will eventually inherit wealth and property, when I'm of the belief that the boomer generation are going to be stripped of their assets to cover their care and health needs. The boomers been left alone with the majority of the cuts due to the Tories needing their votes. As that generation dies off, you can be sure that the Tories will suck out as much of their wealth as they can.
